I love my Honda but hate the way it looks. I take pride in where I park, no dents, no accidents, perfect condition except the paint is fading. I am very upset by this. I hope Honda will repaint.

I do not understand, this is a 2010 car that looks about 20 years old, I had a car before this, same make and model for 8 years without this issue. This one I've only had myself for 3 years and it's terrible. All over the roof top and trunk top. It needs to be fixed, but I'm afraid if I go get it painted it will happen again.

THE PAINT ON MY 2010 CIVIC LOOKS LIKE THE CAR IS 20 YEARS OLD. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I SEE THERE IS A RECALL ON MY YEAR AND COLOR. I'LL BE CONTACTING MY LOCAL DEALER AND HOPEFULLY THIS WILL GET RESOLVED.

I bought a new 2010 Honda Civic 6 years ago. I have driven 40000 miles and the paint is already chipped in several places on the roof. The car is black, so the chips stand out like a sore thumb. I'm truly disgusted. I'm now looking online for touch up paint for my car. It's really painful that defective car paint and spent out of pocket to fix it.

Honda issued a recall for defective clear coat but only included 9 colors in their extended warranty. If clear coat was defective in these 9 colors it is highly likely that it is also defective on other colors showing the same premature deterioration. After contacting Honda America they offered to pay 50% of the cost to repaint instead of the 100% coverage they offer for any of the 9 colors with the exact same problem.

The paint started by fading away. After a few months, I realized that the paint on the hood of the car began chipping away. The fading was horrible, but the chipping on the hood of the car is extremely annoying. When I first received my car they told me it was normal wear and tear. I had no idea that it was actually a recall for HONDA.

PLEASE!!! HELP ME REPAIR THIS ISSUE!!!

I have a 2010 Honda Civic that looks like sh*t!!! Clear coat and the paint are fading and it's rough to the touch. I had this issue on the roof up near the front windshield in 2 spots and also near the back window. Now I have then same thing on the trunk and as of 3 days ago I have it in the passenger side fender. I took it over to the Honda dealer today 10/12/14 and they told me it needs a wax. REALLY!!!! I wax my car twice a year. So I said the the manger wtf your wrong it's the paint. Well you know they always think women are wrong. Well I'm a lot smarter than what he thinks. Now it's time to call the better business bureau!

I had problems with the clear coat in my 2010 black Honda Civic. It got cloudy and started coming off sometime in 2013. I was just letting the problem go until I could afford a cheap paint job for my car when my boyfriend found a complaint online with the solution.

HONDA HAS ISSUED A 7 YEAR EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR A CLEAR-COAT DEFECT IN CERTAIN COLOR CIVICS. Call Honda or your local dealership if you're having this problem. They repaint any panels that are experiencing the problem--for me, that was my whole car. The only thing that didn't get repainted were my bumpers and mirrors, which aren't covered.

While I was excited to get the problem fixed for free, I was left without a car for 2 weeks because they didn't offer rental car--which I think is ridiculous when the problem was entirely a defect on their part.

I have a 5 year old car, that I park in the garage at work. Somehow, amazingly, the paint has begun to oxidize. After trying to work through all of the brake issues these cars (2010 Civics) had, I thought I was in the clear. Nope. Apparently a five year paint job, which is parked indoors for a majority of the day, is just wearing and tearing, peeling like an orange and I'm supposed to accept that. Well, Honda, never again. The issues have mounted to the point that I'm not buying another Honda again. Maybe a Toyota, maybe American, but definitely not Honda.

After previously driving 4 used vehicles, I was very excited of owning a way newer car, but that did not last long. It looks old and ugly. And I just paid it off, so now it just feels like another used car. I hate to look at it every day. I want to get it repainted but I cannot afford it. And why should I pay for a bad job done?

I understand that there is normal wear and tear but I see cars that are older than mine and the paint still looks shinny. mine looks shinny in some places in horrible in others, something doesn't add up. The oxidation should happen slowly with time and more evenly throughout the surface of the car, not just in two or three spots. I love my car, but this is giving me a headache, the oxidation is moving faster than I can save for a paint job.

This car is five years old. When I bought it March 2013, there was no such indications of this problem. It needs to be fixed, as this is not my fault. I wash and dry my car frequently. It is not overexposed to the sun. It should NOT HAPPEN.

About (3 Year Warranty) 3 months after the warranty expired these white spots started the form on back and trunk of the car. The dealership claims it is Wear N' Tear but if you were to look up how long a paint job is suppose to last...should be 10+ years if properly done. The really should fix this problem for free but unfortunately they do not. Now I have to pay a significant about of money to prevent the entire vehicle from turning into Swiss-cheese.

I love my Honda, unfortunately the paint on my 2010 Civic is rapidly oxidizing on the roof and the trunk, I also have a 2007 Accord and the paint is perfect. I have taken it to 2 dealers and both both said this is normal wear, one of them said they would contact Honda in Japan, 5 months later nothing.

I am so disappointed in the service and quality of the Honda Civic I have purchased. Due to the absence of any concern for quality on the part of Honda at this time I will not buy another Honda.

I have been searching on the internet about this problem because my car is only 3 years old and the paint should not be oxidizing already. Honda knows they have done a poor job with paint sealing on certain colors and it should be fixed free off charge on vehicles that are under 5 years old. It's ridiculous here I am all excited about getting a Honda and I have to deal with paint issues already. Someone needs to address this issue and it should be taken care of. It doesn't matter that it's not a safety issue but when you get a new car or a newer car besides maintenance you shouldn't have to worry about the paint peeling or oxidizing on a car that is less than 10 years old.

The paint has started oxidizing on the roof of the car, particularly towards the rear window, in blotches that appear whitish. They were first noticed in 2012 and I tried to have the car cleaned and have rubbing compound and wax, but the problem is with the paint itself. I am reporting this to Honda today with the aim of getting it resolved by Honda under warranty. It is ridiculous that the paint should be oxidizing in under thirty months.

I have a 2010 Black Honda Civic. The paint is prematurely oxidizing and there is cracking in the paint. From what I understand Honda has recently recognized paint issues related to cracking. I currently have an open claim with them and will update the outcome. I certainly hope they step up to the plate and fix the issues.

I noticed that there were spots showing up all over the car. I took it to the dealership and they said it was pre-mature oxidation. When I bought the car brand new I also purchased a package that was a protective coating coating I had to have put on every 6 months, which I have done. They set up another appointment to have my car repainted. Picked it up 2 weeks later and was told they only "spot" painted it. It is back at the dealership for the 3rd time in 1 1/2 months for the same problem. They WILL NOT fix the issue! It's SO AGGRAVATING! And on top of that they put a different color pin stripping on the car! I'm very disappointed with the quality of the original paint and how the dealership is addressing the issue. I have had other Honda's in the past, I have a 2006 Civic now also and do not have this issue!
