Start vehicle and engine light comes on, tcs (traction control system) light goes on and car vibrates. This appears to be a well documented problem with Honda transmissions. In fact, there's a dedicated website at www.odysseytransmission.com for people who've experienced similar problems or issues. I called Honda America this morning and told there was nothing they could do even though am the original owner and this is the second transmission they've put in. They gave me a case# N012012-06-1100441 at this point am going to the dealer to have it checked out this afternoon weary of having to replace transmission for $3K.

Check engine light on. Dealer reveals code P0420. They (russ darrow milwaukee, wi) are saying that the catalytic converter as well as an O2 sensor need to be replaced cost $1,200. The current mileage is 110,000 and failure mileage was 91,000 and I am the original owner of the vehicle. Sticking sliding door's in winter (russ darrow & david hobbs milwaukee, wi) have all the serivice records on the sticking door issuse and they where unable to resolve it. Dealer's fix for sticking sliding door was to lube the sliding door every winter instead of finding a solution. This has been on going since 2002 and now I just lube the door's my self instead of wasting my time at dealer's service center.

In May 2005 the transmission on this 2000 Odyssey failed and was replaced by our local dealer at no charge under the directions of service bulletin 02-062. The mileage at the time was almost 72,000 miles. We had heard that there had been transmission problems and we thought that the 2005 replacement would have solved the problem. Now, after another 68,000 miles, the replacement transmission has failed. This replacement Odyssey transmission failed after sunset at about 7:00 pm on an unlit two lane country road with little room or opportunity to park safely. My husband, who is almost 70 years old was driving and with no gears barely managed to pull over to the side of the road. It was still dangerously close to the road, but fortunately another driver stopped and helped my husband push the Odyssey a few extra feet to a slightly safer area. We were about 100 yards from a curve where approaching cars could not see us until they were almost upon us. The only protection we had was our emergency flashers. We were approximately five miles from our home in a very rural area with no close services. We had to wait on the side of the road for almost two hours for a tow truck to arrive. It was a very dangerous and frightening experience. Since we have always been meticulous in dealer recommended and provided maintenance, I have no doubt that inadequate and/or shoddy Honda replacements parts are responsible for this failure. That failure put both my husband and myself in a disturbing and perilous situation.

I have a check engine light for P0401 code for clogged ege system and P1739 for the transmission code my transmission was already replaced this is the 2nd transmission from Honda. On August 2010 my check engine light came on I took the car to pep boys. They pulled up the 2 codes P0401 and P1739 for clogged egr system and transmission code. I replaced the egr valve and still the same code came up. My car is now out of warranty and there is a service bulletin that has to be performed to unclogg the egr system that is to Honda bulletin 00-009 to drill a hole in the manifold and install a pipe. This should have been done under warranty it is a known defect. The transmission is also bad a gain because it has the P1739 code. I want both of these fixed under the warranty.

We are the original owners of 2000 Honda Odyssey (80K miles) and few days back the check engine light came on and the dealer is saying that the transmission needs to be rebuilt and neither Honda nor the dealer would pay any of it. Searching in the web, now I see that there were many such cases- so this seem like a known issue and so I'd like Honda to take responsibility and fix the issue for free or give some financial assist at the least. Is there something I can do to get help? thanks.

The contact owns a 2000 Honda Odyssey. While driving approximately 30 mph, the contact heard a loud noise and the vehicle hesitated when the accelerator pedal was depressed. Occasionally, the vehicle stalled and the RPM's would increase excessively. The engine warning light was illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and they found no failures. Recently, the transmission failed and needs to be replaced. The vehicle has not been repaired. The contact was displeased to know that his vehicle was not included in the recall due to its mileage. The VIN and recall number were unknown. The failure mileage was 80,000 and current mileage was 118,000.

The fuel filler neck has developed a leak. As a result, the check engine light stayed on, and the vehicle was unable to pass inspection. A leak was coming from somewhere in the fuel filler pipe. The fuel filler pipe was replaced again along with the fuel pump seal and nut.

Rear bucket seat buckle unbolted from its structure without any impact or force being applied. There were problems with the temperature control knob. (the entire heat A/C control panel was replaced), the front brake pads had to be replaced and the rotors had to be cut, the check engine light had come on, and gasoline was smelled each time the engine was shut off.
