The high beam has a single halogen light for both settings. When switching from low to high beam the light fails to project far ahead. This reduces extended visibility as needed for the high beam. Dealership stated that they were unable to make observations due to business hours in order to correct the problem. With a single halogen bulb, when switching from low beam to high beam, the low beam element goes out and no longer works resulting in a dark sensation ahead of the vehicle because the high beam light is further out and is too dispersed. High beams are unusable in this condition. (per telephone conversation w/ consumer on 07/02/04)
