The entire AC stopped working and I had to bare the heat for 2 summers before I could afford to have a new one installed. It ruined a long awaited and expensive Disney World vacation. The dealership denied that AC failure was related to a previous recall related to AC failure

Odyssey Touring

Our A/C went out in the middle of summer on our Touring Odyssey. Because our mechanic recommending not only replacing the unit but the compressor as well the fix was $1300! If you don't fix both you end up needing a new compressor down the road so may as well fix it once and for all.

I expected the compressor would last for more miles. We live in Ohio, so it's not like we use it heavily for a lot of the year.

Horrible experience". Died only days before our trip to Nashville. local Firestone garage diagnosed bad compressor and condenser and used Acura dealer (Bobby Rahal) in PA refused to accept their diagnosis stating we'd have to drive it back up to them 3hrs away for them to diagnose, do any work and offer a measly 25% discount on "good faith". We bought the van for over $13,000 only 60 days ago and they're offering to pay $200 on a $1700 ac service...this is after MANY others have reported bad stock Denso manufactured compressors in this model car. extremely frustrated with both dealership and Honda Corp!!

A small part that would cost me $ 300.00 just to have the a/c running cold...what a mess

Odyssey EX V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 47,000 miles

$500 dollars for dealer to diagnose the problem as a failed compressor. (Clearing codes, checking wiring, trouble shooting wiring, loosening and re tightening a leaky schraeder valve

Dealer quote of $1700 to replace the compressor. Total would be $2200 to get the van cooling again.

These seems an awful lot for a van with 47000 miles on it.

Currently getting quotes from other dealers and waiting to see if Honda will cover anything under warranty.

I keep you posted.

Odyssey EX

  • 15,000 miles

air conditioning failure no apparent reason. notice squisshy sound at low speed no apparent cause for some time. Honda says rock broke pipe but no visible damage to pipe. Examined and noticed plastic dam loose and hanging with missing bolts. Honda argues that it is not covered under warranty. WILL HAVE TO ARGUE
