I am very frustrated that my new Honda Odyssey was such a disappointment! I will never buy another Honda because I hate the way it drives! The transmission is so rough and literally jerks during downshifting. Occasionally, it operates as it should with a fairly smooth downshift (especially when a Honda technician is driving it). However, with me in town and stop and go traffic, it is painfully annoying! I feel every down shift, and the "surge" you get from the new gear actually affects your breaking as well. I have taken it in to the Honda service dept. and complained since I got the vehicle, but after whatever computer updates were available had been performed with no improvement, they say nothing is wrong with it and it is just shifting into "economy" mode (which that opens up a whole other complaint!! - the gas mileage!) They have put it on the computer to test the transmission and say that everything checks out fine. Forgive me, but I know that it is not REASONABLE for a vehicle to drive like this!! And what frustrates me even more is that this van is rated so highly, and yet, I would never recommend it to anyone. In fact, I tell everyone not to buy a Honda Odyssey.
