problem #3

Dec 012012

Odyssey EX-L 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100 miles

Had tires rotated, so that was ruled out. I don't think it's the ECO mode either. During coasting or shifting to lower gear the van starts vibrating.

Odyssey EX

Car is vibrating in steering wheel and in seats. Honda dealer balanced tires on two separate occasion and did not fix. Michelin offered brand new tires. New tires were mounted and problem still persists.

Odyssey EX-L RES V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 150 miles

My brand new 2012 Honda Odyssey has a vibration that is felt throughout the entire vehicle, but is most prominent in the 3rd row seating. We've had the vehicle for less than a week and it now has around 400 miles on it. We've brought it to the dealership, test drove it with about 6-8 people from the dealership and they agree there is a vibration. They balanced the wheels (which were all out of balance) and the car seems worse than when I brought it in. After they balanced the wheels I left the dealership to go home and within a couple of miles headed right back to the dealership since the problem persisted. Once back at the dealership, we then test drove another brand new odyssey and it seemed to have a vibe as well, and that is where I'm left. They are somewhat saying its a characteristic of the Odyssey since another one had a similar vibration. This is absolutely unacceptable. When I picked up the vehicle after leaving it with them for the night and a majority of the next day, I was told to drive the vehicle for a week or two and see if the problem subsides, possibly could have been a result of how the vehicle was loaded on the truck for delivery they are telling me. Overall, besides balancing the wheels, the dealership didn't inspect anything. For whats its worth, I purchased this vehicle based on Honda's reputation, and so far I'm regretting my decision. I have a feeling this is going to be a long journey towards a resolution.
