The contact owns a 2008 Hyundai Accent. The contact stated that while attempting to park, the vehicle accelerated independently. In addition, the brake pedal was depressed and traveled to the floorboard causing the vehicle to crash into the contacts residence. The contact sustained burns on left arms and two bones in the right foot which fractured that required medical attention. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,030.
The contact owns a 2008 Hyundai Accent. The contact stated that the motor in his vehicle would rev automatically when coming to a stop. The vehicle would jerk forward and caused him to run a traffic light at 10 mph. The failure occurred at least once every month and a half since the vehicle was purchased in March of 2008. He took the vehicle to the dealer and they performed a diagnostic test, but could not locate a failure. The failure mileage was 7,500. Updated 01/29/09. Updated 01/30/09.
