When taking off with the vehicle it will die and almost come to a complete stop then the engine picks back up and continues on down the road does this every time you start and stop. Will not get on 200 rpms or 60 mph. This is the second time I have had the car in the shop for the same issue. First time they kept my car two months said it was a wiring issue. 2000 miles later does the same exact thing almost causing me to get in a wreck because it starts with no warning at all. Car currently back in the shop been there now a week have not heard anything from them.

Car was in park at take out window, when I put the car in drive and took my foot off the brake, the car lunged forward without my pressing down on the gas pedal. The car was hard to control. I was able to pull it over and stop, when I did the engine light came on. I shut it off, waited a few minutes, started it up, drove around the parking lot slowly and it seemed to be back to normal. The engine light stayed on for 2 days while it was parked in my yard, not using it. I drove it to my automotive shop to be looked at and while driving there, the light went out. They did a diagnostic on it and found the accelerator pedal position sensor was out and suggested the whole pedal assembly be replaced. They said it was an intermittent problem and would happen again. I had it towed to a Hyundai dealership as it was under warranty. I was told they could not find what was wrong and tried to return the car to me without fixing it. I have refused to pick it up until it is fixed to prevent a future accident or injuring someone. This is a major safety issue that needs to be resolved. The car was dropped off on 2/25/19 and they still have it today on 3/6/19, with no communication from them since 3/1/19 when they told me to come and get it.

While driving on the interstate, I noticed a rattling/knocking noise coming from the front of the vehicle, under the hood. The noise kept getting louder, specifically as the vehicle accelerated. I noticed that the rpms would increase, with no increase in speed & even a decrease in speed. During this time the car was using cruise control at approximately 70 mph. As I noticed the knocking noise getting louder, I tapped the brakes & the vehicle's speed dramatically decreased to approximately 40 mph. I tried to speed the vehicle up & the rpms increased significantly, while the vehicle speed did not. I then put my flashers on to signal there was an issue with the vehicle & the check engine light came on, along with other service lights on the dashboard. The vehicle's steering capacity was tight & the ride became extremely bumpy as the speed decreased. After abruptly stopping on the shoulder of the interstate, the vehicle started to smell like something was burning. I could smell this in the cabin of the vehicle & the noticed there was smoke coming from the hood of the car. The engine shut off, but then began to try & turn on, with the lights starting & the start up musical sound playing. It would turn on & off 3 - 4 times, so I then removed the key from the vehicle, stepped out & backed away. The smoke, thankfully, seemed to dissipate after 20 minutes. Fire & police arrived on the scene & did not find any fire, but did smell the burning smell I noticed in the cabin of the vehicle. Unfortunately, we never could get the vehicle's engine to crank again & ended up having it towed back to our local Hyundai dealership.

Engine started to make clicks and car immediately stalled getting off the freeway. Had to be stopped, parked before I regained engine power. This happened around 22,800 miles. Happened again on the way to dealer and with dealer service staff. Diagnosed as defective turbo assembly that was replaced. Shortly after I picked the car from the shop, I noticed same clicking noise again and car also accelerated on it's own when my foot was not on the break. This happened intermittently. The car returned to the shop and I was told that there is damage in the engine and the engine was replaced. When I went to pick up the car I noticed oil dripping below it. Car was inspected again and I was informed that the transmission assembly is cracked and will need to be replaced. The car is still at the shop.

My vehicle was involved in the engine recall which caused the vehicle to completely shut down due to engine failure. After having the engine replaced by a Hyundai dealership, the vehicle continues to intermittently loose power without notice. Although, the tachometer reads 7000 RPM, the speed is 20 mph with the pedal to the floor boards. This happens without notice and has happened on interstate highways with cars speeding buy! we have to pull over and shut it off and then restart. Then it will be fine til next the next time. The local Hyundai dealership has not been able to correct the problem although they have replaced several things. It is an ongoing problem.
