My Tucson hit the 60k mark in the midst of the quarantine. It was around 59,800 in April. My right hip also went out and required surgery in May. The surgeon was 87 miles (one way) away. The first window went out the day of surgery on the way home (59,950 miles). The back window on the same side went out the next week when I went for my follow up (59,990). By the time we go to the closet dealership (80 miles away) it was “past the warranty” and they wanted approximately $1250 to fix both. It was at about 60,497 (it was just under 60,500). And they refused to honor the warranty even though appointments were hard to get due to quarantine and such.

We took it to a local mechanic (excellent reputation) and it was $250 less. While he was pulling it in to start the front passenger window and planning the back passenger window next the front DRIVER window quit! We will duct tape the back window since the driver window is used more. And I plan to put a warning on the tape to help others! The company refused to offer any help even with the extenuating circumstances. Warranty runs out and it starts falling apart! Literally, the back window just dropped as I was driving with my grandson. Scared us almost to death (literally, I swerved and slammed on the brakes!).

The closest dealership didn’t care and the Hyundai company didn’t either when I contacted them. I have made a loan and it is in the shop now. Just think... three window motors (we haven’t had the nerve to check the last one yet!) less than 500 miles after the warranty runs out, during a quarantine and the company doesn’t care!
