Transmission clunked while going up a grade so bad, I thought it would fall out from under the vehicle. I had to have the computer rebooted @ $125.

Now I have 60,000 miles on it and it's doing it worse than ever. Another stupid $125 to have computer updated. STUPID. But, I should realize it is a JEEP.

I bought 2 new Jeeps. One was red one was white. The white one I had in the garage several times trying to fix it. Never could fix it. So I traded it off. Lost money on that deal Still got the red one, but it don't work all that great. Sometimes you almost get in trouble when you go to pull out because it don't shift the gears down.

I've been keeping track of the clunks since this hard clunk occurred outside of ABQ, Most of the bad clunks seem to come when accelerating going up hill most in the 33-35 mph range, then a lot in the 44-47 mph range, but after a recent software upgrade, I had my second one in the 50 mph range.

Dealer had it for 3 days could never recreate it, I drove w a mechanic and of course I couldn't recreate it, But 90% of them happen when accelerating uphill. Mechanic made some comment that I took my foot off the accelerator--well isn't that what you do to slow down? Otherwise we would drive with both feet.

Everytime it happens, I'm noting the mileage, mph and date and time. Wishing there was some diagnostic tool they could attach to the car. It does seem to happen near the same spots.

I'm at 50k, think the warranty for the drivetrain is 100k. I'll be taking it in again, just to have it noted on my record, again. Love all aspects about this car, except the uncertainty of the transmission.

Driving onto the freeway, car was going about 45 mph and this huge clunk with a shudder happens. Luckily, nothing else happened as I finished my drive home. Took the car into the dealership and they "reprogramed" the transmission. Have not had a clunk since but the random shift issues did not go away.

The transmission on my Jeep was changed about 3 months ago and now we are having issues again. The car made such a loud clunking noise my husband thought he hit something. The entire dash lit up with error messages. The transmission indicator stayed lit. He was able to drive it home but it would not shift out of low gear. We have taken it back to the dealer and they are saying it might be awhile because they have had quite a few come in.

Dealer said that I needed a software upgrade to fix the rough shifting... it really bangs into gear when I'm going about 25 to 35 mph. It randomly happens about once every 40 miles so I can't repeat it while at the dealer. They did the software upgrade. No change. Rough shifting where it bangs into gear still happens daily. It makes my passengers gasp and is extremely embarrassing since it's a new vehicle.

April 2, 2016 we traded in our 2014 Kia Optima for a 2015 Jeep Cherokee Latitude. About May, I started to regret it. I was wondering if this Jeep we had purchased was a mixture of rejected parts. I first noticed the CLUNKING when putting the Jeep in reverse! Wow, that's a shocking occurrence for a vehicle that had 1K miles on it. Then I noticed that the Jeep would speed up with the foot off of the accelerator! This vehicle JERKS - LURCHES FORWARD - CLUNKS - DELAYS IN ACCELERATION / DECELERATION.....and is driving me CRAZY!

I have not attempted to contact the Dealership, mostly because I have read that numerous people have and it does NO GOOD!

I did see that there is an active LAWSUIT against Jeep from a 2014 Jeep Cherokee owner who is experiencing the same issues I (and thousands of other owners) are having. I am just hoping that the airbags work when this Jeep lurches forward into a snowy intersection this winter and I end up in an accident!

Continuation from a previous post, the transmission clunks and jerks when shifting. At times the car will hesitate when I attempt to accelerate. A few days ago while making a right hand turn from a stop the tranny would not shift out of first gear for several seconds and then shifted hard to second. The Jeep is still under the factory warranty and as I said in my previous post the dealer has attempted repairs on three occasions with no success. FCA really needs to make this right.

I purchased this 2015 Cherokee used, it only had 14000 miles on the odometer. The first problem I noticed was the engine RPM`s would spike up while going down an incline increasing the speed of the vehicle. Little did I know this was only the beginning of my problems.

I have had the Jeep to the dealer three times and this problem is still not fixed, they have conducted several software updates but did not resolve the issue. I was told there was nothing else they could do, as I stated that was just the one of problems.

After much research I found I am not the only one having these problems, but it looks FCA does not how to fix it either.

We spoke with the dealership were advised that it was a coding problem with the software and that a patch was needed. They installed the software patch to the computer system and stated the transmission was fine and did not need to be replaced. When asked about how they already had the software patch in place, we were advised that they already had it and it was a known issue. We inquired why weren’t we contacted if it was a known issue and were told that they didn’t know which Jeeps were affected so had to “wait and see” which cars presented with a problem. This is a really safe and customer oriented solution! So Jeep knew there was an issue and that the transmission could stop functioning at any time and failed to advise their customers through phone, email, or mail communication even though the safety and security of their customers was at stake here.

I do not feel safe in my vehicle or that I can take it on long car trips (i.e. more than 30 minutes). This is a brand new vehicle and if I wanted a clunker I would have bought a used vehicle and taken my changes. Part of what you are buying with a new car is the safety and security of knowing you won’t have to deal with these issues with LESS THAN 25K miles on the car.

What if this were at night? What if I was alone with my child? What if it wasn’t normal business hours? What if we were 10 hours from home and in the middle of nowhere? What if this was your 18 year old daughter up in the mountains and in the ice and snow and her transmission failed? What if we were in a horrible car accident and someone was injured or worse, what if it was fatal? I’ve never been more disappointed with a company for failing to put basic respect and safety in front of the bottom line. My questions for Jeep are what are you going to do to make this right? What are you going to do to make this better and make our car safe?

lurches forward when at stop light, loud clunk when stopped

Jeep's transmissions are JUNK, this 2015 Trail Hawk I have is a BIG pain in the ass....Chrysler knows they have a problem but won't do a thing about it, they should replace all of them with a proven transmission they know works, but NO they won't do that, it might cost them some money, to hell with the customer that has to put up with it....string them along until the warranty runs out. This transmission is going to get someone killed, just hope it isn't me or my family, or anyone else for that matter

I probably could go on and on, but I know it won't do a dam bit of good, I know one thing for sure, when the warranty is about up this piece of sh*t is history.

Purchased the car in Jan 2015 brand new. almost immediately feeling a shimmering under petal, rattling in panoramic sunroof and a clunking noise happening during take off coming from the transmission. Bring to dealer who tells us looks like it is the front axles and WE need to call Chrysler and put a complaint in.

Dealer states they do not have the parts to fix it and will need to discuss with Chrysler. Car there for 3 weeks, axles replaced. Sunroof sealers are not in yet and need to bring back to get fixed. Shimmering no longer happening but clunking happens again. another call to Chrysler.

Dealer also has no loaners to offer and puts us in a rental......should have told us something right there - no loaners available. I wonder why???

So looking forward to purchasing a brand new jeep and have had nothing but problems!

Not happy. ready to return the car for something else.

At low speed most annoying. After engine warm-up 3-4 minutes, reapplication of gas causes a "clunk" sound from trans. Sometimes when letting off the gas as well as reapplication.
