2016 Jeep Cherokee Latitude with 21,000 miles has now spent a little over two weeks at the dealership with no end in sight. This is my teenage daughter's car, she was driving on a busy road, slowed down for another car and it completely died. When I say died, I mean dead, the hazards wouldn't even turn on. She got a quick lesson in rude drivers as they yelled, beeped and used hand signals. She thankfully thought to put the hood up and police were able to direct the traffic around the car while waiting for the tow. The flat bed tow truck couldn't even get the wheels to move, he had to use dish soap so the locked wheels would go up the ramp. The car has done this three times, thankfully never in traffic before.
The last time the dealership replaced the battery, that didn't solve the problem. The 2016 Grande Cherokee had a recall for this exact problem but the dealership won't hear a word of it because it is only for the Grande Cherokee. This car is a death trap. They have now replaced the BCM, they called us to say it was fixed, we showed up for it and it was dead again. So now it sits at the dealership and they have no idea what is wrong. If we could just get it running long enough to trade it in...I will not have my child killed by this dangerous car. There are over 40 complaints, how is this not a recall??
