I am researching and finding a lot of people are having the same issues. Dealer just say the batter is bad and charge to replace. One poster reported being charged $400 for battery and a new ESS sensor... Some people are saying that the ESS sensor on the negative post of the battery is the culprit. Either way, if the ESS does not shut down after turning the car off, it will drain the battery in as little as 3 hours. This has stranded my wife at the store, waiting for me to come and jump start the vehicle. I disconnected the sensor and this has resolved the issues of the battery draining. We just live with the 'warning stop/start malfunction/needs service' display and the yellow waning light always on. This seems to be a common problem that Jeep/Chrysler knows about but will not address.
