My 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4X4 has randomly but continuously stalled or hasn't started up successfully for the past year that I have owned it. This has caused much stress, anxiety, and inconvenience for me, my wife and young daughter. We live with the constant fear of being left stranded throughout or own city or worst yet stranded out of town during family road trips. This is completely unacceptable and undesirable as loyal Jeep vehicle owners of several different Jeep models including two Jeep patriots and one Jeep Liberty. This past Friday I was unable to start up my Jeep to go to work and was left stranded in my garage. I had to miss work that day and have the Jeep towed to a local authorized dealership where it is still parked four days later unable to start up and is undiagnosed or repaired. This is causing me and my family much financial hardship due to my wife and I having to alternate missing work or trying to borrow a spare vehicle from other family members. I hope to have a remedy as soon as possible by the manufacturer as this issue and subsequent recall has been in effect since last year 2019. I hope that this complaint does not fall on deaf ears and that a solution is developed and provided to me and my family right away.

My vehicle is already part of a recall issued 11/14/2019. The company still has no repair for this recall, I have a hard time figuring out how this is reasonable for a company to take this long to solve a problem do I have any recourse in this issue? (recall related incident)

A fuel pump relay failure can result in a stall condition if the vehicle is running or a no-start condition if not running. I use currently my car for works matter. I was very kind and I am very afraid to use the car and this prevented me from being late in my personal affairs ann I am emotionally affected because up to the mopars does not have solution.

My 2013 Grand Cherokee has had the stalling issue since I bought it in Dec. 2016. In 2017 after replacing tipm & fuel-pump at our expense, vehicle continued to stall & neither Jeep nor the dealership would do anything other than change the part. We filed with ncds, & the arbitrator did not pursue the case & Chrysler responded that the vehicle was 'operating as intended'. I have electronic copies of those documents. Since the official recall was issued, my car has been in the shop 3-4 times & continues to shut off multiple times daily or every other day. It failed & would not start Dec. 2019 so I took it in & got it back a week later. They claimed my battery was dead & would not hold charge. However, the day before it wouldn't start, I'd driven it back from dallas to lafayette, la w no stall. I'd also driven it around the morning it stopped working so I am not understanding that, but paid for the repairs & a couple weeks later, it failed again. It's my understanding the fuel pump has been replaced twice since my visit in December. I took it in on Jan. 20th for the stalling & got it back on the 21st in the afternoon. Less than 24 hrs later, it stalled again. I called the dealership all last week to report the daily stalls & went back in this past Monday, the 27th, after they did not return my calls to schedule an appointment. It stalled there in the dealership parking lot, & they got a tech to run the codes & it came back as the recall part. Then they ran specific diagnostics per fca's request & said they couldn't duplicate it. Since Monday, it has stalled twice so far today, on Wednesday. The car has stalled while idling with my foot on the brake, while driving it, and upon start it will immediately die after cranking up. The issue is intermittent & poses a huge safety risk for myself & others when it stalls in-operation.

I had the original recall done for the fuel pump relay, after just over 2 years it stopped working and when it doesn't work the car can't start. They told me that I had the recall done and it was more than 2 years, I was no longer covered. I have replaced it twice already since then. I just received a letter from Jeep and they have put a second recall on this part. However they don't have the part which is about $10 and the car will not start without it. I called the dealership and main company and was told if I have a problem starting or stall while driving I am to have it towed to the nearest dealership and they will look at it and evaluate the problem and if the relay is the problem they will repair it with an over the counter part and will call me when the dealership part comes in. I asked how long it would take to evaluate my car if it was towed in to be fixed. No one could give me an answer. Only saying once they look at it and figure out the problem then I would be notified. Here is a quote from the letter they sent me ' a vehicle engine stall while driving can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning '. so my question is, is this car safe to drive as is, and if not what are my choices. They have no answer for this. I am informing you of this problem, they didn't offer a rental car when I said what do I do with this situation. A $10 part and they don't have any, I keep 2 replacements in the glove box in case my car doesn't start but I didn't know the car can just stall while driving. That is very dangerous for everyone that owns one of these vehicles and the cars around them. It's a disgrace and I think they knew about this problem and didn't prepare to have the parts ready for this problem. I just hope no one dies (recall related incident)

I was driving on the capital beltway 495 in Maryland when all the lights in my car came on and then turned off. After that my car completely stopped accelerating, my check engine light came on as well as the ABS light and a lightning bolt light where my speed is displayed started flashing. I was able to get to the shoulder of the road after almost getting rear ended. When I tried to turn my car back on all of the lights kept flashing and the engine wouldn't turn over. After about 30 minutes all the lights went out and my car was finally able to start. Off and on my car keeps telling my to check my gas cap even though I've replaced it and it's always on there tightly.

Tried to start my Jeep it wouldn't start. I used the push button. I waited a few hrs and tried again. Same issue. Tried my remote start. Started up. Next day used the push start, started up no problem, on the highway (95) the truck was hesitating when going up an incline. Next day push start won't work, the engine would turn over as usual but wouldn't start. Remote start and it started up. Son took it and put it on the diagnosis machine and said there weren't any codes. Researching a hard starting problem I've read tons of posts very similar to what I have experienced. I called the dealer to make an appointment. Asked could it possibly be the same issue that my truck was re called on already. He said might be R09 fuel relay recall, timp problem, (recall was a temporary solution to install a fuel pump harness bypass so that the fuel pump turns off) but that if it is, the dealer said they already replaced that and will not do again unless it is pd for, after they put the Jeep on their diagnosis machine at $175 per hr. So after they completed the 9th recall I pick up my Jeep with hopes that I could do more research. I also called Jeep. The lady was very nice but they will do nothing except add my complaint to their system. I found out that many people had the same problem as I do! Jeep/Chrysler have put faulty timp in these cars and do not want to put a recall out on them. Many cars with my model have had the same complaints. The faulty timp has the fuel pump running constantly which drains the battery it runs when the car is off. Now if I 'try' to start the vehicle it smells like something is burning. After researching this problem I found the issue to be a timp problem and now am aware that I am not alone. There are hundreds if not more Jeep owners that are having the same issue.

About a month ago from this date, I remote started the vehicle before leaving my home, opened the house door and it wasnt running. I entered the vehicle and tried to start it with the key fob. Nothing happened other than the vehicle turning over without starting. Been this way since. It will start after many, many attempts by turning the key and eventually starting. There is no fuel pump noise when the key is cycled numerous time from acc to on position.

I had a recall on the fuel pump relay, I had it fixed on February 24,2015, today I had to replace it again, my car stalled 2X while driving, it also wouldn't start several times, would crank but not start. I called mopar and went to Jeep dealership and both refused to replace for free. I keep a spare with me now in case I have the same problem again. I don't want to be stuck in no mans land late at night. I have aaa also. I just hope this isn't going to be a constant problem the consumer stated the there was recall on the vehicle, but the part was unavailable. The consumer stated the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time completing the recall.

Fuel pump relay: Our Jeep Grand Cherokee has been hard to start for some time. It just turns over as normal but doesn't start. The fuel pump relay has supposedly been fixed but it is acting as before the relay repair. Since the relay recall has been 'fixed', I put in a new fuel pump. It did not fix the problem. Jeep needs to step up and fix these!

I was driving my Jeep Grand Cherokee on the street, turning the corner at an intersection, the engine lost all power, turned off, and I lost control of the power steering and vehicle in general. I almost hit a pedestrian that was walking on the sidewalk. This was a city street, the vehicle was in motion, and I was turning left. I have called the Jeep dealership repeatedly telling them about this symptom of my vehicle. I also have a problem with the vehicle not starting when try to turn it on, the engine will turn over repeatedly but not fire up. After several attempts, it sometimes will start. It is an intermittent issue. Other times I need to call a tow truck. I feel this is directly related to recall R09, even though this recall was performed on my vehicle, these are the same symptoms described, so I think the problem is back even after the recall. It is a safety issue and needs to be addressed by Chrysler/Jeep. I have contacted the dealership at river oaks Jeep/Chrysler on 4807 kirby drive in houston tx, 77098, and paid for a diagnostic. They initially were not able to identify the problem. After a couple days they said the fuel pump was not holding pressure and would cost $2000 to replace. I can not afford that right now, and I declined repairs. I called the headquarters for Chrysler/Jeep dealership and asked for them to pay for the repairs as this is a safety issue and a malfunctioning part related to a recall, and they refused. This is documented under case #34923344. I feel Chrysler Jeep should either replace my fuel pump relay again, even after it was already done once under recall R09, or they should pay to replace the entire fuel pump, as they are not able to diagnose the source of the problem with 100% certainty. This is a safety issue related to the engineering of their vehicles.
