There has been a safety recall since June of 2022 out on my car, and the manufacturer has failed to provide a timely remedy for the situation. I have since taken it to have work done for a permanent code (caused by the recall), and spent time and money trying to resolve the safety issue that the manufacturer has failed to. I am concerned that I am driving a car with a safety issue that has not yet been resolved after nearly 9 months.

The top of the Fuel Filler Tube - Mopar (68302344AB) is made of weak plastic. While fueling the vehicle, the capless portion of the part above broke and a small amount of fuel spilt. Now the car is difficult to fuel and the fuel tank is exposed due to the lack of the fuel capping mechanism.

Fuel pump relay has failed. It is internal and soldered onto the tipm board under the fuse block. This is a well known issue and a cheap fix on 2011 - 2013 models of jeep grand cherokees. The fix was to wire in an external bypass relay. My only option at this point is to replace the tipm board which is quite expensive, hundreds of dollars, for a $8 failed relay....terrible design. Thankfully I wasnt traveling 70 mph on the expressway when the failure occurred, (stall/lose power). Please extend this recall thru the 2015 models

The capless gas system is cheap and coming out of the car. It leaks gas out of the bottom and every shop ignores me. I have found multiple conversations online with people having the same problem. This should be recalled. The system was redesigned three times in one year. It is poor engineering. It causes my car to throw codes over and over to no relief.it had happened multiple times over my past two years owning it.

Their is oil being introduced into the coolant reservoirs. Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel. The vehicle are having failed oil coolers that stemmed from the failed EGR coolers. The driving of these vehicles for over a year awaiting a fix has caused the engines to have other failures. There has been over 10 recalls on these Ecodiesels since I bought the jeep brand new in 2014. They made a deal with the EPA lawsuit and did a software patch which changed the engine function issues, they did a patch on the power train control module, transmission control module, and apparently the ECM engine control module. I-€™ve had nothing but -€œcheck engine-€ light codes in since the first patch in 2016 that they didn-€™t put in the records, I have the work order showing the patch. In 2019 the lawsuit the EPA approved for them, allowed them to place a new patch that caused other components to continue to malfunction like the-€ high pressure fuel pump now. The dealerships are saying the failures aren-€™t due to their negligence and are causing consumers to deal with costly repairs that-€™s not their faults. I got a bill for $29,000 for a new engine, they said my jeep was under extended warranty but don-€™t want to help foot the repairs. Also stated they would reimburse recall work that customers paid for prior to recalls coming out within 60 days, but it has taken me over 4 years to try and get reimbursed. My car is at the dealership now and has been down since April 29, 2022.

My vehicle has a recall with the parts not available, I crash without prior warning, and injured. I have contact FCA US and other customer care numbers provided. My vehicle was repaired for the outer damage due to the collision, but my vehicle does not pass emission due to parts not being available. My car is drivable with very little power and can only drive a very low speed and locally. I have called about this matter for over a month and afraid that I will get in to another accident. I have not received information on when parts will be available. I had it checked and most probable other components require replacing due to the recall. This put me at risk and could have put my children at risk.

While driving down the road the vehicle lost power. No warning lights had come on prior to losing power. Luckily I was able to get it pulled over off the road before it died completely. After that it would not start but the check engine light was now on. I had vehicle towed to a shop close to my house. After the shop-€™s diagnostics, I was informed the problem was the high pressure fuel pump.

While traveling with 2 small children on the highway a very strong burning smell starting coming through the ventilation system along with a small amount of smoke. Immediately exited the highway and left the vehicle overnight. Upon returning to the vehicle the next day, a large amount of liquid (oil) was leaked out under the vehicle as well as oil all over the components underneath the vehicle. Took vehicle to nearest mechanic and without even inspecting it, the mechanic (non dealership) stated it was likely the oil filter housing as he had replaced a # of these in recent memory due to the plastic melting and/or cracking. The mechanic confirmed the next day that this was in deed the issue and the oil filter housing had to be replaced due to mine being cracked. There appears to be thousands of these cases reported to nhtsa, yet the manufacturer is yet to recall this, which is a significant safety hazzard. Allowing a manufacturer to use a piece of plastic that is known to fail, to store and/or transfer a highly flammable liquid such as oil is a tragedy in the making. Oil leaking onto the engine and other components of the vehicle can cause a fire without the vehicle occupants knowing anything about it. If the manufacturer is unwilling to proactively recall this flawed part, then the nhtsa needs to step in and force a recall before a vehicle catches fire and there is a loss of life.

At this time there are so many open issues with this defected part that I am unable to get this part cause there are 5800 people in line before me waiting for this part. When I went to the gas station on rt. 130 in burlington, the attendant told me my gas cap was broken. I didn't quite understand and thought he meant the gas door since it is sometimes hard to get open. I check this morning to see what he meant and my gas cap was laying in the behind the gas door. I have a capless system. No need to twist. I don't know how it broke. I can only say the attendance told me it was broken before he filled up my tank.

I was driving on highway 26 West bound in Oregon just outside of portland. My car has ecodiesel engine in it. I usually buy gas when it is about a quarter tank of fuel. I had about quarter tank of fuel and about 150 miles range left. I was on the left lane and traveling at about 60 mph. All the sudden my engine stopped instantly on the left lane of highway 26. All the cars behind me hit the brakes not to rear end me. My car's engine stopped and slowed down so quickly. It was scary. I tried to pull over to the right side of the highway. Once the car was parked, it said that battery saving mode. It would crank up but not start the engine. I called a mobile mechanic over. He checked the battery and alternator and said the battery is strong and no blown fuses whatsoever. He then went under the car and listen the fuel pump and said that it sounds very bad.he had beliefs that I had problems with my fuel system, maybe a broken fuel pump. He read the codes out of car computer and they all were related to the fuel systems. I started doing some online research and found out that Jeep Grand Cherokee has a faulty design of fuel tanks and if the fuel goes below the quarter tank level. Then pump does not work properly. Upon reading this, I called a friend who brought me 5 gallons of diesel and we put the diesel inside the tank and the car started immediately. I drove it to a near by gas station and filed up the tank full. I think this car has some sort of faulty design of fuel pump. It will cause a fatal accident if it does not get corrected by the manufacturer as soon as possible. When the engine stopped suddenly, the car actually swerved around little bit. This incident could have ended fatally if I was not quick enough. I am writing this to let you gusy know about this flaw about Grand Cherokee ecodiesels 3.0 engines.
