CarComplaints.com Notes: On August 16th, 2012 Jeep stopped production of the the Jeep Liberty, marking the end of a troublesome journey for the SUV.

All in all, the 2012 Liberty actually excels off-road, but since 99% of drivers never take this thing off pavement, that becomes somewhat of a moot point. The Liberty suffers from the worst fuel economy in its class (16/22 MPG) and offers an uncomfortable ride with suspect braking ability.

First dealer said nothing could be found except a brake controller and needed a $500 tune up... Kept for 3 days... 4 Days later same issue.. All the lights on the dash on.. .Took to new dealer said was tire monitor and perhaps the computer. Computer on national back up but they got one fast and replaced. 3 days later pick up car and very same day with 25 miles happens again but worse, now it's making bells and all the lights are on. So back at the dealer again with an unknown issue... EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED!

We can be killed when driving this piece of sh*t, when we were on the road, all of a sudden, all warning lights lit up on the dash board like a Christmas tree and the car store in the middle of the road, lucky we are in local street and not on a highway. tow to the dealer in Westbury Jeep dealer , for three days, they can not find the problem, they told me to pick up the car as nothing else they can do for the time being. I pick up my can late friday evening. the next morning, try to go to church and the damn car would not start. Call the dealer again and they tow it , and two days later, they still unable to tell me what the hell is wrong with the car. Called Jeep Corp. office in Detroit and they told me the with contact dealer. today we are inform that the problem is with the TIPM.

Update from Jun 18, 2015: Car stall during highway driving, won't start again. Tow to dealer and they claim they fix the problem, pick up car next day and the same problem happened again. This sounds like a TIPM problem.
