CarComplaints.com Notes: On August 16th, 2012 Jeep stopped production of the the Jeep Liberty, marking the end of a troublesome journey for the SUV.

All in all, the 2012 Liberty actually excels off-road, but since 99% of drivers never take this thing off pavement, that becomes somewhat of a moot point. The Liberty suffers from the worst fuel economy in its class (16/22 MPG) and offers an uncomfortable ride with suspect braking ability.

This is the second time the issue with the panel has broken on my seat and after examining it it's no wonder since the part that keeps breaking is made of a very cheap plastic. I have just recently went to the dealership a second time to get it fixed and was told THIS time I won't be charged since I was inconvenienced in having to bring it back within a year for the same issue. It really disappoints me that a supposed quality vehicle could offer such a cheap cover knowing the weight of the operator will impact it's strength. I did not see any recalls for this panel.

I know that I did not answer the questions very well but it was hard to fit this problem in the categories offered. The cover on the side of the seats where the auto adjustments are keeps breaking. The part that holds it in place is a flimsy piece of plastic. It broke within 30 days of me purchasing the car so it was replaced. Then not 6 months later it was broke again. It is very poorly constructed. I will return to this website and add pictures because I would like to know if anyone else has had this problem. Recently I found that the passenger seat panel is broken also. Because I never seat on that side I did not realize it. Now the plastic cover that is attached to this panel also covers where the seat belt unfolds so it is not broken also. I take very good care of my cars and I am not hard on them. I am the only driver unless on the highway. It is very annoying and to me it should have been a recall item.
