CarComplaints.com Notes: On August 16th, 2012 Jeep stopped production of the the Jeep Liberty, marking the end of a troublesome journey for the SUV.
All in all, the 2012 Liberty actually excels off-road, but since 99% of drivers never take this thing off pavement, that becomes somewhat of a moot point. The Liberty suffers from the worst fuel economy in its class (16/22 MPG) and offers an uncomfortable ride with suspect braking ability.

In November 2017 the rear driver’s side window just dropped down into the door frame, leaving the window stuck open during windy, cold winter weather. I had to drive around with plastic taped on for 10 days while waiting for the first available appointment at the Jeep dealership. When I called to make my appointment...the service man was able to finish my sentence saying “let me guess, you have a Liberty†because it happens so often. It’s a very expensive repair, plus renting a car to get to work and get the kids to school. Then in December of 2017, the exact same thing happened again, this time to the front driver’s side window. Over $1,000 in repairs so far and I am just waiting for the next window to drop into the door.
