Aluminum valve stem broke off at 63000 miles just by adding air to the tire, this is not covered under any warranty because it's considered normal wear and tear. However it's not a 10 dollar fix by getting a new valve stem, you have to replace the tire pressure monitor as well because they are one piece and since the Tom was still working it wasn't considered an electrical part failure. The problem is that these aluminum valve stems have been known to break off just by washing the tires with a sponge. I thought Jeeps were meant to go off the beating path? Now I'm worried they may fail just driving down the highway causing serious injury or death. Jeep should do a recall on these valve stems and replace them with rubber ones that won't fail this way before someone seriously gets hurt.
