I was cleaning my Patriot 2011 when I notice that the subframe has holes. I also owen a 2008 Jeep Patriot and I got a recall for the same promblem. When I contacted the dealer about the same promblem they said they didnt had a recall for 2011 Jeep. My biggest worry when driven this vehicle I that at any moment the subframe may brake, me that I drive constaly on a highway it is a damgerous situation. I feel that all Jeep Patriot owners should be aware of dangers. I notice this because I was playing with my son and a ball went underneath the car. When driving the car I thought the cracking sound was the tires, but was told they were not. So now I am assuming the subframe is to blame. I would highly appreciate if something could be done.

I have notice a recall on frobt and rear subframe rust and prefoartions and cross memver. Mechanic says subfranes are rusted all the through and broke. He states car is too new for this to be gappening. Jeep has been a hassle-sibe already replaced $1500 worth OF2 a arns/control arns at Firestone. Bidy is rusting and car is well cared fir- sibe I have been fighting cancer and this is and has been my onlt transportation fir car. I am asking why nt car is not under any of the recalks but ine cheaper service recalk-as it certainly falls under all the recalls currently the 2011 heep Patriot has on it. Ver disappointed and would appreciate any help I can receive in this matter. Also-Jeep has always oulled to the right since I bought it-got car alignment still oulls to the right. Again-Jeep has been a gassle to own. I biught brand new.

While driving down the road after picking up my 3 children from daycare. I was going approximately 25mph and the front driver side tire folded outward. The sub frame and cross members apparently are defective.unbeknownst to me there is a warranty 10 year/ unlimited mileage. There was also a class action lawsuit on Jeep Patriots/ compasses between 2001-2007 because of this issue. Instead of fixing the issue this company/ manufacturer has continued to use these defective parts on newer models such as mine. I might add for some odd reason the class action lawsuit doesn't cover my year although its the same defective sub frame and cross member parts. All they have done was offer this warranty, which I was never made aware of or told about by them or the dealer I made my purchase through. After my children and I nearly got seriously injured or killed did I look into this and found out. Due to these defective parts not only were we almost killed but the car suffered severe damage to the front end and the transmission as well as various other parts and components. I still have payments left on this automobile and it is completely inoperable and really hasn't gotten that much use compared to the amount I've paid already, not even counting what I still owe. I called the dealership and corporate office and they seem completely unconcerned and unhelpful in resolving this issue. I will never purchase a Jeep/ Fiat/ Chrysler product ever again. These people put me and my family knowingly into a very unsafe vehicle and nearly got us killed. If I had been on the interstate doing 65mph and this had happened I would not be here writing this. All I can do is thank god it decided to fail when it did, not later on the interstate. To sum it up tire came off, lost steering control, ground to a halt in the street sideways, car fluids pouring all over road. Also have pictures of scene.

The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Patriot. The contact stated that there was extensive rust on her vehicle, which included the K frame, the a frame, and the front and rear driver side tires. Due to the rust, the steering was affected and loud metal grinding noises were heard while driving. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who stated that the repair cost would exceed the actual value of the vehicle. New smyrna Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (2555 fl-44, new smyrna beach, fl 32168, 386-424-1300) was called and stated that the vehicle had an extended warranty; however, the warranty would only cover part of the rust repair. The dealer advised the contact to have the vehicle towed to their facility to assess what the warranty could cover. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 122,000.

During normal driving conditions, car was under braking, when a loud bang was heard. Immediately after, frequent popping/ banging was heard from the front end. After jacking the car up and looking for the source of the noise, it was noticed that the front frame crossmember subframe cradle had rusted severely enough that it broke where the font suspension connects to it. Vehicle is unsafe to drive now.

Bought the car new. Replaced left control arm in 2015, replaced right control arm in 2016, replacing both control arms again. Dealer wants $750 for each control arm they replace. Ruined two front tires (which luckily didn't burst on me on the highway), ruined second set of front tires. Again, tires were brand new in 2015 due to the left control arm, have replaced 4 tires since then due to the front control arms. Chrysler won't do anything. There are a million complaints about this on the Patriot model online. Jeep dealership service center and two mechanics told me it was a design flaw and it will continue to happen. Looking at $750-$1500 a year (not to mention the cost of new tires) to correct. Silly. Car has never been in 4X4 or off road. Has 74K miles on it and is 6 years old. Given that the tires have steel poking through w/in a years time due to the control arm, this is dangerous!

My 2011 Jeep Patriot was purchased new in mid November 2010. It has 42,972 miles on it. I had to replace the tires, one was worn clear down on the inside. The tire supplier said I needed an alignment. When I went in to get an alignment they were unable to do one because my ball joints needed replaced. I've owned this vehicle (my first & last Jeep) for 63 1/2 months and driven it less than 677 miles a month or less than 10 miles per day, I should not be replacing my ball joints with these low miles on my car! it is bad enough that I was told not to even drive my car until the parts come in which is going to be another 13 days! please tell me how this is normal wear & tear on a vehicle that has never been off road and has never had the 4 wheel drive engaged longer than to just pull out of slick spot? please make this right and recall the Jeep that are having this issue!
