- FIXING The "Death Wobble - These guys seem to have more success than anyone I have found in my research, and take an in depth methodology, rather than randomly suggesting "tires" or "steering dampener" for lack of any intelligent response.

Have had zero probs w/ '06 Wrangler until I hit 18,000 miles. I suddenly started experiencing a "shimmy" after hitting rough patches on the road. Local dealer replaced the steering damper but this resolved only 25% of the problem. I now have a "new" sensation as at interstate speeds I feel the steering wheel vibrate right to left. (death wobble?)
Before I take it back to the dealer I want to be armed with the knowledge of what needs to be repaired so, any ideas what the problem is? (And yes, it is six yrs old with only 18,500 miles!)
