I have to add a quart of oil every 300 miles! No sign of leaks or white smoke either.

Rio EX 1.6L L4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 71,000 miles

Started burning oil around 70k miles. At first it wasn't bad, about 1 quart every 1000 miles. By the time the vehicle had reached 80k it was up to 1 quart every 600 miles on average. Now at 120k it is at 1 quart every 300 miles. I spoke to a service rep. at KIA in Lynchburg. He just shook his head and said he was told to say that's normal. I would replace the engine but I don't want to put that much money into another engine that will probably have the same issue.
