I have a 2005 Kia Sorento with 54,800 miles. The gas tank is leaking at the seam, a strong odor of gas after filled half full. I called Kia main headquarters who set me up with a case # then proceeded to tell me that it was out of warranty and nothing they could do about it. They also told me they have never heard of any reports or problems about the gas tanks, but the NHSA has reports on it. Hmmm! Wonder why the NHSA has reports, but Kia doesn't?
Hello; I have a question about my 2005 Kia Sorento. I've been hearing about a lot of problems with Kia gas tanks. Some spurt out gas when you try to fill them. Which has happened to me several times, but now I've noticed gas leaking from the middle seam of the gas tank itself! I cannot fill the tank past half full. The smell of gas is sometimes overwhelming. Has there been this problem in the past, and is Kia aware of this problem. I would like to get an answer about Kia replacing the gas tank, because this could be a serious danger to passengers in and outside the car. Please contact me as soon as possible if there has been a recall about this problem or if it has been mentioned before on your website! Thank You.
