Sorento still under warranty. Dash instrument panel went black in March 2024. It took KIA 3 weeks to have someone fix it within a two hour time period!! On March 25th, took car to auto shop we have used for 'six' previously owned KIAs for an oil change as the leaks were showing in our driveway.

NO light came on in the car to say the oil was low.

March 25th to April 24th 2024 ... and we received a reply today: "I have summited a PWA claim for your vehicle and explained everything and summited all your paperwork that you gave to us. Unfortunately they have denied your claim, they are saying do to improper oil changes causing oil housing to leak therefore causing damage to engine. OIL FILTER HOUSING leaking a long period of time would be a responsibility to owner not considered to be a manufactures defect and not covered by warranty. It would be related to whoever does oil changes. . So unfortunately there is nothing we can do at this time."

KIA were the last mechanics to work on this car. My mechanic could not change the oil there was no oil in the engine.

Lawyers .... ugh .... next step .... 4.5 year old car where in we paid $2,000 extra coverage.

This is the second KIA we have lost due to engine problems. 2011 KIA Optima was the first one wherein the engine died while driving it in 2019. They talked us into purchasing a 2019 KIA Optima giving us $10,000 CAD off the purchase of a new car.

Sorento LX 3.3L V6

My Sorento began consuming oil at an unexpected rate, resulting in two instances where the dipstick was below the Low Level in a two week timeframe. I did some inspections of the engine bay and underneath the vehicle to determine that the oil pan gasket was leaking oil at about a quart to a quart and a half per week.

I ordered a replacement sealant and conducted repairs myself, but unfortunately this means that my engine could have suffered damage during its low level period. All prior to the 100,000 mile mark, at approximately 5 years old. This doesn't seem like acceptable quality standards.
