While driving in a heavy rain, with the windshield wipers on a medium speed, the wipers stopped. By turning off and on the wipers, I could not get them to restart. While trying to get to the shoulder of the road, the wipers began working again on their own. They were off for approximately 45 seconds. This happened again, approximately 1 month later. In a 45 minute drive home, in heavy rain, the wipers quit on 3 occasions. Each stoppage seem to last for 30-45 seconds. They would restart on their own, there didn't seem to be anything that I could do to start them. I took the car to a Nissan dealership to fix. They said that they could not find the problem and to bring it back when it was happening all the time. I told them that it was too dangerous and I did not want to drive it in the rain as it was too hazardous. They said that there was nothing they could do as they didn't know what the problem was. I filed a complaint with Nissan corporate, they had their tech department try and troubleshoot with the dealership. They found nothing. I now have a vehicle which I feel is extremely hazardous in inclement weather and have had no support from the manufacturer in resolving it.
