We bought our 2012 Nissan Murano in March of 2012, it started having a coolant leak smell in AUG of 2012, smell was very present, made an appointment with Tracy Nissan in Calif, took it in to be fixed on Sept 28th 2012 and they said the hose was leaking, need to replace it, didn't have the hose so they had to order it after making me wait for 4 hrs,so took car home and returned it 2 weeks later, they changed hose and said it was fixed, about 1 week later smell was back, called the manager at Tracy Nissan and he said they would pickup my car on Oct 9th and leave me a rental ,so they did and they called and said there was no leak, but would keep it over night to be double sure, they called next day and said there were no leaks an no external or internal problems existed,. Oct 29th called Nissan in Tracy told him the smell was still there what are they going to do about it? SO they picked up my car Nov 8th and took it back to their shop, checked it again still they say there is no smell, so the mechanic brought it back to us in our garage and me and my husband and the mechanic all 3 were standing in front of the car and he said he could smell it slightly, so he called the manager at the time was Dave and they decided to take it back again to the shop that night, they kept it for a week and brought it back to me and still said there was no problems found, they were just giving us the run around trying to passify us, we let it go for a while and then started back up agin with them cos we are tired of smelling these toxic fumes, so on and on it goes now going to BBB autoline complaint dept to be resolved i hope, it just is really bad when you buy something brand new so you wont have a problem, and you have one anyways, and they dont even care to look deeper into it and fix it, i'm also going to call the national high way safety administration about this problem

I smelled and my family smelled antifreeze soon after driving my new Nissan Murano 2012. The smell was mostly outside; only inside if I opened any window. My asthma started every time and I couldn't breath right. I took it to the dealer about 5 times now. They see nothing wrong and tell me the smell is normal, not antifreeze and likely Cosmalene that will burn off. I now have 15 K miles on it. I just never open the windows and had been good. I've been following the step by step process in the warranty guide and now in the BBB auto line complaint process. I still have the car almost one year later. It is still in the BBB process. Now the smell is inside the car and I no longer can drive it. The smell makes me and my family physically ill. The dealer can't smell anything inside the car. The car makes me feel dizzy, nauseous and lethargic. I can not afford to rent a car and I am stuck with this one that I can not drive while it takes yet more time to work through the Lemon Law Process. I can't afford to rent a car through the lemon law process which a lemon law attorney tells me I likely won't win and Nissan may drag their feet for 8 months or more. I will never buy another Nissan. This is a disgrace. If there is anyone else out there with this problem please post. This may help me and ultimately others from this toxic smell.

I bought a 2012 brand new car from Charlie's Nissan in Augusta Maine. With in a week I smelt anit-freeze (many other passengers smell it as well) - I have brought it to the shop 3 times. They replaced the clamp and hose and said the problem is fixed....I continue to smell it daily...brought the vehicle back to Lee Nissan in Auburn and they claim there is no problem....although I smell it...doesn't look like it is leaking much, however, there is a smell and I can not find why it happens or any common denominators that provoke the smell...all I know it is there and buying a brand new vehicle off the lot it should NOT have this smell...
