I had been hearing a humming noise in the car for some time. I was on the turnpike and the car just simply stopped moving forward. No matter how much gas I gave it, I could not move.
Unknown, was no accident, transmission stalling, jerking, pulling slow transmission get over heated will not move, takes off real slow RPM go way up and you can only drive20 miles, and you get stuck in traffic, it's and accident waiting to happen, not safety at all when you stuck in middle of freeway cause transmission stalled.
My driver's side sun visor is stuck in the downward position, which is constantly obstructing my view and is a safety hazard to myself as well as others around me. I raised this issue to my dealer and was told that although this is a common problem with my specific vehicle make and model there currently are no recalls on this. I was told that a plastic clip within the visor is known to break after normal wear and tear causing the visor to not function properly. If this is a known issue, it should be a recall before there are any injuries as a result of obstructed vision.

I have a 2014 Nissan Murano. I am the only owner of this 2014 Murano. It currently has about 75000 miles. Yesterday my sunroof glass shattered for no reason. I was driving back home with my daughter on the road, when I heard this horrible loud crack. The front sunroof essentially shattered in on itself and tiny pieces of glass everywhere. The sunroof looked like something had exploded from the inside out! Nissan corporate office refuses to pay the repairs! I have read that other people with Nissan Murano's have had the same experience.
While driving along I 17 South of flagstaff, AZ, we heard a loud sound, like a gun shot. We pulled over to find no tire had blown, checked the rest of the car, didn't see anything. We continued to drive and started hearing rattling and shaking near the roof. We pulled over again only to find our sunroof was completely shattered. Luckily, we had the retractable shade closed, so neither of us was hit with glass, but cars behind us could have been. About 2/3 of the sunroof was already gone. We finished our 90-mile drive home in 100 degrees with the top/shade open so as not to do any damage to the shade itself. Driving on an interstate at 70 mph with a semi truck next to us when the explosion occurred, could have been deadly. Fortunately, my husband kept control of the vehicle as we somehow got off the highway to safety.
Drivers side sun visor is will not stay in any set position. This is a serious safety issue on any day that the sun out, particularly driving into the sun. This is a critical safe driving component of any vehicle. Very expensive part to purchase, for what it is, because of the high demand since so many have failed. The sun visor will not stay up, as it will just drop in front of your line of vision, and it will not stay towards windshield to block the blinding sun. It looks like these complaints have been placed in various areas on here.
Cvt transmission has bad hesitation and heavy bang when shifting into drive. They want $5,000 to replace the whole unit! I have been getting around the issue by shifting into neutral then giving the engine a kick and sliding it into drive nice and smooth. Ain't going to fly for resale. Just needed to report this issue with you. Thank you.
The sun visor has made a popping noise when closing it from the first day I purchased the vehicle. Yesterday the sun visor completely broke and now it will not stay up in the closed position. This issue is causing a safety issue since it obscures my vision while driving.
While driving at a safe speed on the highway (65 mph) with no other cars in my vicinity my sunroof exploded for no reason at all. The was a loud boom and then the interior material of the sunroof started flapping. Since it was closed at the time, I'm thankful that the interior material caught the majority of the glass with only the remaining outskirts of glass making its way into the car. This happened out of the blue for no apparent reason. There were no other cars near me so it could not have been from a rock or something that was kicked up from another vehicle. It was a clear, sunny day in the upper 60's.
The sun visor on the driver's side (left side) no longer stays in the up position. It hangs down and blocks the view if the rearview mirror and blocks the view if street signs and street lights.
I was driving on a 2-lane highway at night, going 50-55 mph with few cars around - no overpasses at all in the area. I heard a sudden really loud noise and immediately heard the sound of glass open somewhere in the vehicle. I thought my vehicle had been shot at! when I was able to find a place to pull over, I used my flashlight to check all the windows, which were fine...then realized the broken glass was on my sunroof! it was completely shattered, outwards. I later learned this is known as "exploding sunroof", and the Murano is the 3rd most reported vehicle this happens to. Nissan takes no responsibility! this should have been a recall with the preponderance of episodes, and I'm very disappointed in Nissan. This is my 6th (and now last) Nissan. There was nothing, as far as temperature, driving conditions, or traffic to explain why and when this happened. I am now parked in the garage, waiting a few days for a mobile service to come replace the glass, and I'm not happy! the claim on my insurance will surely raise my rates.
Driving down city street car loses power, , still runs but runs slow as if it's not getting gas, apparently Nissan's are notorius for transmission assembly failing...cost to repair $3800!! car not even paid off, Nissan knows and knew there were problems with transmission
Driver side sun visor broken falls down while driving blocks vision this is a safety hazard it happens at random I went to the dealership they said it is not under warranty and would cost over $400 to replace my Murano has 35000 miles on
Car won't start. Taken to dealership four times in one month and continues to have issues. Originally told it was the ipdm module which was replaced. About a week and half later the engine wouldn't start again but the dashboard lights, radio and heat/air wouldn't shut off. Was told this time that it was a faulty battery which was replaced. After picking it up and driving less than 10 miles and sitting for a few hours it wouldn't start again. Every single light on the dashboard is on and again the engine won't start or cut off the lights. Had it towed back to the dealership and 4 days later was told that it was due to a rusty bolt of some sort that was loose and needed to be replaced. 2 days later it wouldn't start again. A few hours later the car starts but the check engine light is on. Car was towed to dealership again and it has now been four days with no updates from the dealership. Also - drivers side sunvisor is broken and won't stay up which impairs vision. After all of these trips to the dealership they said it would cost over $200 to fix. I didn't think much of it until I reviewed and noticed that many other have the same issue with the sun visors so this is not an isolated incident.
