The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that both rear liftgate support stays had corroded which resulted in excessive force being used to open the liftgate. In addition, the contact stated that the liftgate would not independently remain open and would forcefully shut when unattended. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer where she was informed that there were no recalls on her vehicle. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and she was given a case number. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
