CarComplaints.com Notes: Be aware the 2007-2011 Nissan Versa was recalled in the US in May 2016 & July 2017 for defective Takata airbags that are potentially deadly. Many Versa owners have reported problems getting Nissan dealers to complete the recall repair, due to scheduling problems & parts shortages.
If you are considering purchasing a 2007-2011 Nissan Versa, call your local Nissan dealer with the VIN# & ask if the airbag recall has been done.

2007 Nissan Versa lost power to engine while driving. Then started having problems cranking. Starter turns over but engine will only sputter, fails to fully start.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Versa. While driving 25 mph, the contact suddenly noticed that the vehicle began to stall. Neither the brakes nor the power steering were operable. As a result, the contact crashed into another vehicle on the opposite side of the road. There were no injuries, but a police report was filed. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer. The current and failure mileages were 38,000.
Bought the car in December of 2007. This is a 2007 Nissan Versa and have been getting only about 22 to 24 miles per gallon in town. Sticker says the car gets 30 miles per gallon in town. I have never gotten close to that. Took car to dealer and they said the air intake temp was 165 degrees and they replaced the sensor. Gas mileage is still not what it should be.
