Exhaust system flange went bad while driving on a trip. The car sounded like it was about to blow up. Took it to a muffler repair shop and was told the repair would be $119.00. Found out while searching the internet that this is a common problem with Nissan Versa and Nissan has been aware of it for some time but will not fix. I have 2 Nissan Versas so I guess I will be spending another $119.00 on the other one.

Update from Jan 9, 2018: Nissan Versa Flange repair failed at 80,000 miles and had to be redone.

Not even 4 years old. Read about problems with exhaust after I bought car. And Nissan isn't responsible for it? My first and last Nissan for sure.

I have never had so many issues with a car in my LIFE!! Then today I go to leave my house and it sounds like I'm driving a race car (but not a cool one)!! So I had my boyfriend look at it and he said it was rusted out so I called to see if it was under warranty and they told me that they don't cover mufflers, then the icing on the cake is they tell me that almost every Nissan they sell has this issue. There's some sort of a flange that builds up water and will rust out fairly quickly but they would "Hook me up" and take it to a muffler shop and put a new pipe on it and override the issue so I will not have it again for about $100. Now am I hearing this right??!! He specifically told me that almost EVERY NISSAN they SELL has this issue!!! Shouldn't you be fixing this for free?? Isn't this a manufactures defect?? Fix the problem!!! I will NEVER buy a Nissan again!!

Rear muffler corroded to the point it broke, less than 3 years old. Within 2 weeks another exhaust noise was noticed and the middle exhaust section was required to be replaced. There was still another noise after those 2 expensive parts were replaced and then an exhaust odor within the vehicle, especially at low speeds. Back to the dealer and took another look and suggested the manifold should be replaced or repaired, but further investigation (by a real muffler shop) proved only the donut gasket required replacement. Almost a complete new muffler after only 3 years, can't wait until the next problem.
