When accelerating it feels as if the engine has died. When you take your foot off the gas for a moment then accelerate again it's fine. It has almost caused a couple of accidents getting on the highway.

My kids where stuck on the highway 120 miles from home because the car just stooped and all dash warning lights came on... out of $250 for tow home, plus whatever it will cost to fix it!!!! Love my Versa, it was purchased brand new w/ only 25 miles on it>>> I pray that this is not a huge expensive fix!!!!

I was just driving (coming home from another state) and I turned when I lost power steering capabilities and looked at my dash. My PS LIGHT WAS ON AND MY OIL AND ENGINE LIGHT. I managed to pull over and turn my car off. I popped the hood and it seemed like it was running hot, but I have no indicator gauge, just an idiot light. The tow guy tried to start my car and it took about 12 sec to turn over. I didn't think it would start. I get a tow to the dealership. They off load the car and no lights are on. None. Power steering is back and working fine. They do a full work up and find no codes stored, and no problems. They say it maybe just stalled out. I have no resolve. I haven't driven the car further yet so who knows what will happen.

This is my second Nissan. I bought 2010 Nissan Versa brand new with 33 miles on it, just completed my 36 month warranty period but still have only 27k miles on it. On April15, it just stranded in the middle of the road. It started normally from home and when I stopped it at a red light, all of sudden, engine stopped and the car was in "Driving" gear but steering wheel was jammed. The following funky lights lit-up; "brake warning light, charge warning light, PS- electric power steering warning light, engine oil pressure warning light, Mal function indicator light (service engine soon)". It did not allow me to turn off my car, or change gear, somehow managed to put it in parking brake. ( need to mention, I replaced a brand new battery in DEC2013 and fuel tank was full, had regular oil service done 2 weeks before from Nissan dealer)

After some struggling, called Insurance for roadside, they arranged a Cob to be safe in ongoing heavy traffic and with some efforts, was able to turn off the car, and when it turned it on, it was running normal, just brakes are little bit sticky when you stop in red light. Now scheduled a checkup for this weekend and according to dealer, my warranty is over, but still have power train warranty.. So hoping for the best.

Nissan has never been able to find the cause as it has not stopped running when they have looked at it at the 5 different dealers who looked at it. I hires an attorney as Nissan refused to buy back the car or do anything about the problem I have almost been in several accidents as the car randomly stops when I have been driving for a time over 45 minutes. I do not understand why the dealer is so horrible to deal with and wants to hold out for me to be injured and sued.
