CarComplaints.com Notes: Be aware the 2007-2011 Nissan Versa was recalled in the US in May 2016 & July 2017 for defective Takata airbags that are potentially deadly. If you are considering purchasing a 2007-2011 Nissan Versa, call your local Nissan dealer with the VIN# & ask if the airbag recall has been done.

The car began to run very loudly, fuel consumption was increased, power of vehicle decreased. The first mechanic stated it could have been the catalytic converter. After research I found that many Nissan Versa owners have been complaining about the same symptoms and the tailpipe could have a break in it. I took it to midas and it was found that the muffler was stainless steel but the weld going from the muffler to the flange/tailpipe was regular steel which corrodes very easily causing breakage. If this had not been fixed it is possible that the muffler could have fallen off while the vehicle was being operated, as well as many other possible problems.
