Takata recall. The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that the part was not available within a reasonable time frame to schedule a repair appointment for an unknown air bag recall. The dealer (western avenue Nissan, 7410 S western ave, Chicago, il 60636, 773-776-8200) indicated that the part may become available by mid-spring of 2018. The dealer also stated that the contact waited too long to request the approval of a loaner vehicle from the manufacturer. The manufacturer stated that they expedited shipping the part to the dealer months ago; however, no part was available when the contact called before and after the spring of 2018. The air bag recall repair was completed months after the contact waited for the part. Shortly after the dealer's recall repair, the air bag indicator illuminated. The contact stated that he would take the vehicle back to the dealer for further diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was contacted again to address the dealer's repairs. The VIN, failure mileage, and recall information were unknown.

The driver side air bag inflator light flashed and took it to the dealership to get that recall fixed and was told that the clock spring was the defect which made the air bag light come on which the air bag was defected and the horn did not work. What started out as a free service turned into a cost of $311 which I did not have. If the air bag inflator light comes on because of the defected clock spring then why isnt the clock spring the recall item. Seems to me that inorder for it all to work it is the clock spring that needs the recall.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator remained illuminated for an extended period of time ever since the vehicle was purchased. Also, the horn was serviced more than twice and failed to function properly. The dealer (kelly Nissan, Inc., 4300 95th St, oak lawn, il 60453, (708) 499-1000) was notified and stated that the failure was not related to an air bag recall repair. Therefore, the vehicle would need to be further tested and diagnosed to provide a repair solution. The vehicle was also taken to an independent repair facility to repair the horn, but the independent mechanic stated that the air bag failure needed to be diagnosed and repaired first. The manufacturer was notified. The manufacturer issued three air bag recalls, two tsbs for the air bags, and one tsb for the electrical system. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

Takata recall I went to grey daniels Nissan in brandon, Mississippi last year (I want to say August) after reading an article on a financial column I follow in regards to the takata air bags. I was not notified in anyway prior to that. I bought my vehicle used from someone which is what I blamed for not being notified. (however I know that is quite possible that a large company such as Nissan keeps records of vins and could track their vehicle's ownership through that) they replaced the passenger side air bag and broke part of my dash in the process. I was notified that the driver's side air bag was unavailable for replacement and would not be until the beginning of this year. Even though I know that they make replacement air bags for vehicles, I made an excuse and told myself, "maybe it's a certain company they're going with." I have been trying to get the driver's side replaced since the beginning of this year. Their website would not allow me to schedule anything more than two days in advance until last week, when it allowed four days in advance. I made my appointment and clearly stated why I was coming in. I was informed that it would was not available at that time and they would have to order it. I know people who have other manufacturers who have gotten a rental car while they were fixing the air bag. I was told to contact my insurance company so the insurance company would pay for the rental, not Nissan.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that the dealer failed to provide the part for an air bag recall for over two months. The remedy failed to provide a solution and the air bag warning indicator remained illuminated after the air bag recall repair. The dealer (kingston Nissan, 140 NY-28, kingston, NY 12401, (845) 338-3100) provided a loaner vehicle for two months. After retrieving the vehicle, the dealer had not yet provided a solution after the contact informed the dealer that the recall repair failed to correct the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

Takata inflators: I verified with Nissan Consumer Affairs that the passenger side airbag inflator was also under recall as of January 2018 and I was told to advise the dealer. I went Jan 26 to get the drivers side inflator fixed and advised the service guy that the passenger side had also been recalled, so I would like them both fixed. When I picked up my car he had only requested the driver side to be repaired. I was late to work so I left but I was very upset because I have to take my mother to her appointments and do not have time to keep going back and forth to the dealer.
