The vehicle was towed to the contacts residence. An independent mechanic came to the contacts residence and stated that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 112,000.
