CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2012-2017 Nissan Versa has an expensive CVT transmission failure defect that shows up plainly in our complaint data.

In late 2019, the CVT defect was subject to a class action settlement. However the settlement only covers transmission repairs up to 7 years after purchase or 84,000 miles (whichever occurs first).

Because many owners commonly drive 20,000 miles/year or more, Versa owners experiencing CVT transmission problems may find they are not covered by this settlement due to the mileage limitation.

Windshield originally replaced when car was less than 3 months old. Minor dings lead to spider webbing cracks that rapidly extend over surface of windshield. Windshield repair kits do nothing! Windshield has to be replaced and is not covered under any warranty.

I truly believe this is a design flaw that causes stress on the glass. There is no reason that a 3 year old car operated under normal city street conditions has had to have the windshield replaced twice.

Brand new car, minor ding to windshield resulted in crack that extended 2/3 of the width of the car. Windshield had to be replaced. Not covered under warranty.

Stopped to get Gas. Went to check the oil, and my brother said the windshield cracked when I shut the hood. Planning on bringing this to Nissan after I take some pictures and check with a different glass place for the cause. I see no rock dings just the crack that starts for the lowest part of the middle of the windshield, goes up 6 inches, then goes sideways another 6 inches. Looks like a stress crack to me. less than 500 miles on the car.
