The original rack and pinion needed to be replaced after getting to the point that all the steering fluid was on my garage floor one morning. A dealership replaced it a second time also to try to eliminate an additional 'ratcheting' felt in the steering wheel, especially after making a tight turn. This still didn't fix that problem. It ended up being a wheel bearing on the front driver side found by a small town independent mechanic - thank goodness these guys/gals are still around.
Expected more from a Toyota, still have an '04 Tundra double cab that I love though. This is a great site, keep up the good work!
