My car has had a recall that according to Toyota they do not have a solution for. I have been unable to get anyone to travel with me in my car due to the recall notice indicating that the sub-wire harness (filter) and the supplemental restraint system (SRS) electronic control unit (ECU) has not been installed. I don't have the possibility of buying another car and so I feel that my life is in danger as well. On 04-13-15 a new case was opened to resolve this issue (case#1504132776). I later followed up and spoke to sabrina (manager at the Toyota located in West columbia, SC in July 2015. She also said that no remedy has been released yet. I would like to ask for someone to give urgent consideration to my case. I feel that I cant even sell this car because this recall lowers the price of the vehicle and my conscience does not allow to pass on to someone else a danger like this. Will someone please help!

I have not yet had an incident. Based on Toyota recommendation, I do not allow anyone (including dogs, or heavy objects) to ride in the passenger front seat (or the back seat). My vehicle is still potentially dangerous for me, the driver. I would apply for an on/off switch for the airbags, but, it is not available for my car. I want that airbag de-activated. I need to get to work, and, I can not afford to replace this unsafe vehicle. I have already been waiting almost 1 year for a fix to the exploding airbag. I am also waiting for the fix to the bad electronic unit that could fire the airbag. How do I get your permission to make my car safe for me to drive by de-activating the passenger side airbag? I am already considering removing the passenger front seat, mounting it on the roof, and parking it in front of the local dealership with deathtrap painted all over it.

Without any indication of a potential problem, my car lost complete power while driving it. In addition, my speedometer was stuck on 50 (I just got off the interstate & was going residential speed), my gas gauge reflected I had a full tank (I actually had a half of a tank) and my temp gauge said my engine was completely cool. I don't know what caused this to happen, but I'm lucky that it did not happen to me while I was on the interstate! let me clarify the facts here- total power loss while driving, steering wheel locked up, gauges - including the speedometer- while at a complete stop were stuck on inaccurate readings, no indication of an issue prior to it stalling! (prior to the car dying on me- headlights and interior lights were bright, radio worked, gauges were accurate. There was no loud noise when this happened, it is not the timing chain, the starter and battery are brand new, there was no hesitation and no trouble when starting it up.) I have not been able to get the car to start since. Did not respond to a jump. From my understanding, there should have been some order in which power is lost - example radio first- dimming lights, etc. Before power is lost to the entire car while driving.

Dear sir or MA'am, my mother was told by hilltop Toyota in richmond, ca that the recall notice was an interim notice, and did not perform any remedy procedures. However the recall notice recommended us to take the vehicle to dealer immediately. Therefore we believe such action is deemed irresponsible and there may be other consumers who could have experienced the same thing.

Most important: We do not drive the car now. Unable to get answers to possible solutions. Called Toyota they said they cannot assist if the problem is not happening when they get the car. This problem is intermittent at best. I asked if they had problems such as mine below and can give me some idea and they said they cannot assist me without having the problem occur while they have the car. We cannot drive the car for it may shut down on us. Latest problem: The vehicles engine shut down while driving 30 mph. Tried to restart the vehicle and everything comes on as if it was going to start up (meaning: The problem is not battery), but would not crank over, no noise, nothing. After playing with the fuses, and waiting a bit the car was able to crank over and start. A week before the latest (above): The car was in park and running, the engine shut down, tried starting the car and same scenario as above, we let the car rest overnight and the next morning it started up. (we didn't do anything to the car). Years ago: The same thing as above except, I went to go use the car, it would not start, had noise and lights but no cranking of engine, nothing (same scenario as above). But, after letting time go by the car would start. (I changed the key to a backup key I had and it started up.) others have this problem as we have tried to find out what the problem is, we came across the same scenarios but no solution.

I was on the highway 605 freeway in California on December 24,2014 at 10: Am. I was driving 60mph and suddenly felt a very strong shake in my car that continued for about two minutes and then I suddenly went from 60mph to 15 mph. I was really scared and concerned about this matter. If I didn't have control I would have gotten cars behind me or myself in a major accident due to this malfunction. I was very shaken up and stressed. I have never been this scared in my vehicle. I drove my car in search for an open mechanic and found one he did a full inspection which was very stressful due to the fact that it was a christmas eve. I really have been a loyal customer to Toyota my whole family and I really would like this to get taken care of. I don't see the need for me to spend more money when its a Toyota problem.

Our airbag light came on, and we had the car checked by airbag service of Utah. They found that the spiral cable was defective, so a new part was ordered and replaced. Toyota recalled vehicles with the same spiral cable issue, but only beginning with model year 2005. Ours is a 2004 model, and we feel that the expenses we put into replacing this part should be reimbursed as part of the recall issues.

Every time it rains and creates a water puddle on the road, when I drive my car through it, water goes up under the car causing it to lose power, to momentarily shut down and I lose my steering. The battery light comes on as well. Also when I come to a stop the car starts shaking or vibrating and it seems like it wants to shut off.

I was driving at 70 mph on the interstate when the car stalled out. We were able to pull to the side of the road luckily. It did start again but stalled again if I went over 40 mph. I had replaced the transmission the week before and had a transmission place check it out. They said the transmission is fine and that the error code is for the ECM. I had taken the care back to my transmission place (certified transmission in bellevue ne.) and he had the same answer for me. I attempted to work with Toyota on this through their customer complaint dept. They referred me to nick anderson (customer care manager) at bellevue Toyota. He didn't care that the car is unsafe to drive or that it stalled on us going 70 mph on the interstate. All he cared about is that the care is over miles on the extended warranty (80,000) and he wouldn't do anything for me at all. I believe in companies that back there product and I no longer believe in Toyota. I have found out that there is a very strong chance that the reason I had to replace the transmission on this auto is because of the ECM that was misdiagnosed as transmission issues. I believe this to be true because I am having the same stalling issues that I had before the new transmission was put in. I feel that Toyota should at the very least repair/replace the faulty ECM at no additional cost to me.

The vehicle I believe has an ECM (engine control module) problem. Since the first incident where the vehicle wanted to shut off at a stop light, the vehicle erratic RPM fluctuation when the vehicle is at a stop or hesitates when taking off. Toyota has done a recall on some of the 2005 thru 2008 models and I believe this model should be included since it uses the same ECM and has the same engine as the other models

On three occasions the vehicle would not start, as a result of a drained battery. 1st time the dealer replaced the battery, 2nd time the dealer stated that the alarm system had a short wire and was fixed. The 3rd time just occured and we are having the car towed to the dealer.
