2005 Toyota Corolla VIN # [xxx] had air bag light go on 10/2009. Brought to A1 Toyota new haven ct and told there was a front passenger side problem. Waited over 2 months for new air bag harness (car not drivable) and harness replaced (3400 dollars). Air bag light went back on 11/2010 and brought back to same dealer 12/2010. Clockspring in steering wheel replaced and tension tightened on front passenger side air bag wiring at cost of 530 dollars. Air bag light went off after this repair but went back on again a week after last repair made. A1 Toyota notified. Had notified customer service at national level (they were not interested) and notified regional Toyota office (they referred me back to dealer...) so a huge safety issue and car definitely not safe to drive... would appreciate you looking into this issue. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I was in a acident last week, someone turned left in front of me. We were going straight through the intersection. Our air bags did not deploy, a number of people (rescure personal, auto repair shop) all mentioned that were surprised the air bags did not deploy. We were going around 15 to 20 mph, I am not sure if this has happened to others or if the bags should have gone off or it this is the correct place to report it. All I can say thanks for seat belts, we would have been just more than just brusing. Sincerely,

: the contact stated the air bag light illuminated as soon as the driver seat belt was buckled. Then, while driving 25 mph, the vehicle collided with the side of a dump truck and neither frontal air bag deployed. However the left side impact airbags deployed. The vehicle was considered a total loss as a result of the crash and was towed to a salvage yard. The contact was wearing a seat belt at that time of the crash. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was also notified. Updated 09/19/06.

My daughter drove a 2005 Toyota Corolla, she was in a wreck today that totaled her car, taking the front end of her car off, she was hit by a commercial size wrecker that lost control, her air bags never deployed. They should have. Toyota has to look into why the air bags do not work on these cars. My daughter brandy mcnamee is going to be ok but had the truck hit her more to her side instead of the passenger side she would have suffered with no air bags. Thank you betty.
