I bought this Highlander from the dealership I have been working for for 20+ years with only 116,000 miles on it. I believe Toyota lasts longer than any car but I had my problems. This was a service issue from 2004 through 2008 but it was never publicized. The transfer case seals wear out and trans fluid leaks out through the seep hole in the transfer case. It's a $2000 dollar repair. I put Lucas seal reconditioner in it until I feel like spending $2k..
