When newly received, I tried to use the voice recognition system to direct the navigation system. I got into a "do loop" where it would ask a question and then before I had a chance to respond it would say it failed to understand and ask again, and again, and again.
The first time I took it in they tried to download a software update. No joy. Then they ordered and installed a new amp. No joy. Then they replaced the whole unit. Some joy, but not much. I still get some of the problem mentioned above, and it is VERY poor at recognizing my speech. I am used to Apple's voice recognition, and so this low grade, barely functional system is a poor excuse for voice recognition in today's technology-level world. I am sorry I bought this thing. I just never imagined Toyota would sell a vehicle with such a poor, underperforming component of its electronic systems.
