RAV4 LS 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 25,000 miles

THE PROBLEM, THEY SAY AT 25000 MILES I NEED TO REPLACE THE BRAKES AGAIN, $250.00 FOR FRONT BRAKES PADS, SO I FIGURE EVERY 10000 MILES , THEN AT THIS RATE BY THE TIME I GET TO A 100000 MILES I WOULD HAVE REPLACED THE BRAKES 8 TIMES TO 9 MORE TIMES, LET SAY 10, I WOULD HAVE WASTED $2500.00 BY THE TIME THIS CAR HIT 100000 MILES, AND THEY LOOK AT ME LIKE I AM AT FAULT. I DON'T LIKE THE RASPING AND CRUNCHING SOUND. WHEN THE REPLACED THE PADS THE 1ST TIME IT STILL HAD HAD THIS SOUND AND WHEN I HAD FIRST PURCHASED AFTER A COUPLE A MONTHS IT HAS THE RASPING AND CRUNCHING AND I EXPECT IF I HAVE THEM REPLACED THAT THE SAME THING WILL OCCUR. THE TECHNITIAN AT TOYOTA SAID THEY HAVE HAVE A ONE YEAR GUARRANTY AND WOULD BE REPLACED FOR FREE IF I HAD THEM REPLACED.

RAV4 Limited 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 10,000 miles

I purchase the Rav4 in October 2015, and three months after the purchase I started to experience a crunching sound coming from my brakes and a fluctuation issue where the brakes do not always catch causing a safety concern. The dealer and Toyota are refusing on two occasions to acknowledge the issue. I took the car in to the Toyota dealer again on 7/28/2015 in hopes that they will finally fix the issue. The dealer will not document the issue!

RAV4 LXE 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,600 miles

Reported to local Toyota dealership. Report was within limits. This is not true. The brakes have to be pushed too far to respond normally. The brakes on my 2010 Prius and my 2012 Camry would "throw you through the windshield" if not careful. The brakes on the Rav4 are totally too much play. It's like there's no booster. This needs to be fixed before an accident occurs

Update from Aug 31, 2015: Local Toyota dealership still insisted brakes were within limits.Tried another new Rav4 on the lot.Brakes were better. After riding with the service manager,he agreed. He put new pads on the front and shaved the pads on the rear. All adjustments were done to the pedal.Rav4 stops much better although not as good as the 2012 Camry.
