While driving in a residential area, going 5-10 mph, the anti-lock brake light came on flashing and beeping loudly. The steering system locked up and lasted 45 seconds to 1 minute. It would occur on a highway as well, no reason, ground completely dry. It would occur driving into the pa turnpike toll booth, rounding corners, going straight on 65 mph highway, (it occurred intermittently 60-70 times). The dealer (North hills Toyota 7401 mcknight road, pittsburgh, pa 15237 412-318-3000 were unable to fix it after I took it in twice. The last time, they disconnected the antilock brake system to fix the problem. I currently am driving with the system unconnected.

The car was sent to the dealer for timing belt kit replacement, upon inspection the technician found the anti lock brake system is malfunctioning due to the fact the above mentioned part, part # 44050-08030, the anti lock brakes hydraulic unit, is damage or inoperable. The technician told me this is not the first time he has encountered this situation in the same model/year of my car, but because Toyota has not pronounce on this matter there is little he can do about it except for replace the part which cost about $1,680, he advise me to inform the proper authorities for further investigation on why the part malfunction.

The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Sienna. The contact stated while driving approximately 5 mph the anti skid break light illuminated and the vehicle made a loud beeping sound. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to her residence after the failure occurred. The failure occurred sixty or seventy times over a period of one year. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the mechanic could not diagnose the failure, because it occurred intermittently. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 84,000.

Removed the run flat tires and replaced them with regular tires. I am constantly having the "tire balance" light go off in my car and getting flat tires. Ever since I switched the tires the alignment has always been issue.

The vehicle sustained intermittent brake failures. The brakes would function normally, then completely fail, then begin functioning normally again. This incident resulted in a low speed collision. The initial occurrence was after driving at highway speeds for approximately 20 miles and braking for stopped traffic. After braking to approximately 10 mph, the brakes were released, and then the brake pedal was applied again. There was no braking effort. The driver began pumping the brake pedal, and was able to do so three times before impact. The vehicle was then placed in park and an accident report filed. The vehicle was then moved under its own power to a nearby parking lot, during which time the brakes functioned normally. The vehicle was then taken home. The next morning the vehicle was being backed out of the garage and had another complete brake failure. The vehicle was stopped by placing the transmission in park. At this time, the vehicle is scheduled to be towed to the lariche Toyota dealership in findlay, Ohio for diagnosis and repair. The telephone number to their service department is 419-423-5656.
