Really upsetting, a week after the lock came off when I put the key in to unlock my door I went to open the driver's door and the entire handle came off in my hand. Who would of thought, now I have to climb over from the passenger side to get in and out of my car.

Yaris 4 Dr Sedan

  • Automatic transmission

Went to Dealers Service Dept as my back passenger side automatic door lock and remote key stopped working on this door. Had to unlock and lock it manually. Service told me I'd have to replace the lock actuator assy as it is faulty at a cost of $667.00cdn. Said to myself, for that cost I can do the lock manually. Four months later it suddenly starts working again. I think fantastic, saved myself some bucks here!

Now two weeks ago back drivers side door unlocks with automatic door lock and remote key but will not lock back up...sometimes! And, to top it all off, the back passenger side door lock now it is back to its old tricks, but only sometimes!

So every time I lock up the car now I have to walk around it and check both back doors to make sure they are locked, which frequently they are not, and do it manually.

What a pain in the #&@#!!!

Anybody else having this problem? If so, what did you do?

At first I couldn't get the driver's side door to open. Went to the dealership and they had to replace the cylinder and "re-key" it! A few days later, I went shopping and sure enough the trunk wouldn't open. I returned to the dealership and they claim there is nothing wrong with it. I am nearing the end of the 3yr, 36mi warranty period. I wonder.....
