After getting annoyed by the ABS light turning on an off randomly these noises appeared and thought of taking the car to my local Toyota dealership where we bought the car from. So they did the regular maintenance in the car and found that the rear left ABS sensor was failing and that the CV boot was loose. A month later the crackling noise got worse and worse. I took the car in to my friends in Canadian Tire and told me that both CV shafts are destroyed, they need to be rebuilt or replaced. Thanks God that the drivetrain warranty was still on.
