I was running errands in my Maxima, and there were no signs of trouble or issues with the vehicle whatsoever. I called John Youngblood Nissan because a trim piece already needed replaced on my one month old car. Anyways, the Nissan service adviser asked for the last 8 digits of the vin, so I pulled over, put the car in park, got the vin number, and when I put it in reverse the car woudn't move. It would barely rev to 2000 RPM. I put it back in park and then reverse and it finally started backing up but very slowly, even flooring the car.
The service guy told me to drive it right over to them, and of course when I got there, the car had no issues whatsoever. I paid $45,000 for this car brand new off the lot at the end of August. It is annoying that it is already have CVT issues. I was aware of the Nissan CVT but everyone has told me the Maximas are more reliable and don't use the same CVT as the Altima. I did my research and couldn't find anything good or bad on the Maxima CVT. I'm hoping this is a one time incident.
