I was on my way to school from work (2 miles) when all of a sudden alarms started going off and I had lights flashing on my dashboard. The check engine light, traction control, stabilitrac, low oil pressure, and air bag light came on. The low oil pressure was flashing and it said to turn off engine.

Luckily I was able to pull over and turn my car off. I checked the oil, and there was no oil in it. I put 3 quarts of oil in it and let it sit for a bit, unfortunately I also ran my battery dead cause the sun went down and I was using my head lights as light to put the oil in and check everything else.

When I took it in to Bob Stall Chevrolet in La Mesa, CA, they told me I needed an oil change and a new battery. It had only been 4 months/2500 miles since my last oil change. I was astounded! They told me they looked it over and there appeared to be no leaks but asked me to bring it in every thousand miles to monitor it. I replaced the battery and it was still coming up. They then suggested I replace the Air bag control module which was another $900 (I couldn't afford it) so I looked it up and there is a recall on it but Chevy hasn't sent out the recall for my vin # so I have to pay for it.

I took it to another dealership (Courtesy Chevrolet in San Diego, CA) service department and they looked at my car and said it needed an EGR valve replacement. That cost me $369.83 it seemed to get rid of the service traction control and stabilitrac lights.

I bought a used 2007 one owner Chevy Equinox... On our way back From Florida our Service stabiltrack light came on along with the service traction control light. The car appeared to be running well, and when we got home, had our mechanic take a look at... He couldn't find anything really wrong. Money was tight, so I kept driving. Now my engine light is on, and it feels like my transmission has got a kick back when it starts to change gears.

I have taken it to dealership after dealership. Have had the EGR valve replaced, speed sensors replaced and nothing is fixing the problem, The lights always come back on. Now they are telling me after the thousands of dollars I have spent that it could be electrical and a grounding wire isn't allowing the hot wires to do their job and is causing signals to the engine and transmission to fail, therefore damaging those parts...Can someone please tell me if they have had this problem??? When they read the codes there are too many to mention, some that I can remember are miss-firing of engine, calibration of gears on the tranny, O2 levels, the list goes on... the mechanic states that it has to be electrical because if all those codes were correct then I couldn't even drive the car.... Someone please help !!!
