I was on my way to school from work (2 miles) when all of a sudden alarms started going off and I had lights flashing on my dashboard. The check engine light, traction control, stabilitrac, low oil pressure, and air bag light came on. The low oil pressure was flashing and it said to turn off engine.
Luckily I was able to pull over and turn my car off. I checked the oil, and there was no oil in it. I put 3 quarts of oil in it and let it sit for a bit, unfortunately I also ran my battery dead cause the sun went down and I was using my head lights as light to put the oil in and check everything else.
When I took it in to Bob Stall Chevrolet in La Mesa, CA, they told me I needed an oil change and a new battery. It had only been 4 months/2500 miles since my last oil change. I was astounded! They told me they looked it over and there appeared to be no leaks but asked me to bring it in every thousand miles to monitor it. I replaced the battery and it was still coming up. They then suggested I replace the Air bag control module which was another $900 (I couldn't afford it) so I looked it up and there is a recall on it but Chevy hasn't sent out the recall for my vin # so I have to pay for it.
I took it to another dealership (Courtesy Chevrolet in San Diego, CA) service department and they looked at my car and said it needed an EGR valve replacement. That cost me $369.83 it seemed to get rid of the service traction control and stabilitrac lights.
