The key started getting stuck in the ignition about 8 months ago or so. I can not remove the key on most days. I have to turn the ignition on and off and shift in out of gear to release the key.

The ignition key would get stuck in the ignition. The only way I could get it out would be to repeatadly shift from park to drive or reverse until the key was released.

I have owned this vehicle since 2009 and have had multiple issues, recurring frequently. The 2 main concerns are stuck key in ignition and stabilitrack and electrical malfunctions. There is a definite issue with the ignition in these vehicles, not only does my key get stuck, it has also been knocked out when hitting a bump. I own a cobalt too that has been recalled and my Equinox has the same issues with ignition this is dangerous and frustrating!! in addition, my stabilitrack has been serviced twice since I have owned. The electrical system goes crazy and lights up with airbag service, stabilitrack service and ABS brake warnings. I just spent 600 on brakes and rotors and it still lights up. The car has been checked and none of these warnings are accurate. These lights come on and off randomly and have for years. The fuel gauge will rotate backwards. The oil indicator that tracks oil life resets itself at random. I am angry! these issues need addressed. Are we not taken seriously because no one died" there are multiple complaints of the same nature as mine and yet no recall" sad that action is taken only after someone is killed! GM needs to do right by people who spend their hard earned money to purchase these vehicles. I have always been pro Chevy but not anymore. Their customer service and quality sucks.

I have been having problems off and on with the ignition, the key gets stuck in the ignition and I have to usually wait a few minutes and move the gears while in park to get the ignition to let go of the key. My worry is the fact that GM has recalls currently on ignition problems which have caused the vehicles to stop while driving. My vehicle although GM; is not currently on the recall list but it seems that this problem I am having can be in relation to this sort of thing.

I have a different type of ignition switch problem. I can't remove the key when the car is in park. This started maybe 1 year ago. I switched out keys (using my second key) and it worked fine until the last 2 months when the problem started again. It doesn't happen all the time. When it does, I have to turn on the ignition, put it in gear and drive forward a few feet and then put it in reverse and go back to where I need to park and turn off the key. Maybe it will work, but there have been times when I've had to do this exercise 10 times before I can remove the key. Just this morning, I had to do it 5 times at a gas station and the people next to me probably thought I was crazy!!!

When I park my car I cannot get the key out of the ignition. I have to push the brake all the way to the floor and move the gear shift several times back and fourth before I can get the key out. It happens almost every day, every time I park the car. It is getting worse day by day and I am afraid that one day I will not be able to get the key out at all. I am unemployed at the present and cannot afford to have anyone look at it. I feel that it is a defect from the factory, because there have been so many reports for the same thing. I think something should be done concerning this problem as soon as possible.
