Impala LS 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission

The car uses 3 qt. of oil in 3000 miles. The chevy dealer says this is normal usage and will not warranty the work to have it looked at.

problem #1

Impala LS 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 58,000 miles

The car uses 1.5 qts of oil every 1000 miles. I have the oil changed when it tells me it's due but, I have to add 4 or 5 qts between oil changes. Almost as if I'm changing the oil before it's actually changed. I have never experienced this type of problem with any other manufacturer ex. Honda, Toyota.

The Chevy dealer service center is useless. They tell me all kinds of BS excuses and all say it is normal with this engine. They blame it on the oil being such low viscosity 5W-30.

GM you need to step up to the plate and repair my car! This is not normal if proper piston/cylinder wall clearances and piston rings are used. COME ON!!!

Has GM forgotten how to engineer and build great car engines???
