Malibu LS V6

I solved the problem by installing an auto remote start, the phython 1400XP cost with installation at circuit city $325. what it does is bypass the GM system to start the car with the remote and not using the key. It has worked everytime and the device can be set to lock your doors after it starts too. As an added feature, you can have the heat or s/c switch turned in the on position before starting the car while inside the house. No more YIKES! or AW MAN! when sitting on the seats. Save money by not replacing the ignition switch and senors which the dealer charges $800 each in some areas. Questions, let me know. ahjeez@yahoo.com

Well, the first thing that they did was to change out the lock core. (which they ended up doing at least 13 different times). They have also changed the PCM and the body control module of the car at least once. The final thing that they did was to just cut me a new key from the VIN even though I had the original keys from when I purchased the car brand new. When I called GM to complain about it, all they would do was give me free oil changes and tire rotations for a year. Can you believe that? It happens a couple of times a year sometimes doesn't matter if it is the hottest day of the year or the coldest day of the year, that is when it happens. It won't turn over and the theft system light just blinks back at me--major, major design flaw!! The next time I contact GM and was in talks with them regarding buying my car back and they told me that they would only give me $1800 for my car that I bought BRAND NEW and was now worth at least $5000! That was a SLAP IN THE FACE! Wouldn't wish this POS (Piece of S!?!) on my worst enemy!

My 1998 Malibu 4 cylinder has 99000 miles. I liked it cause it was good on gas. But recently we have had the same problem the anti theft lock out keeps acting like we are trying to steal the piece of crap! Maybe I'll leave my keys in it so someone could steal it! I also have a chevy Blazer and it has a crap load of problems too! I will never ever buy another chevy product! Chevy should seriously think about getting out of the car making business!

I love my Malibu. Its my first car and I would like to have it working in tip top shape, but i don't have the money. Sure it gives me a few problems but I show and give it respect. I wish I was fortunate enough to get a 05. I'm very thankful.

Anti theft light is on when going to start nothing happens. The car will not turn over. In the past we were told to rectify the problem all we had to do was put the key in the ACC mode for 15-20 minutes and try starting it again. We also took the battery out for a period of time, but the car didnt start.
