This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Repairs to vehicle started 6-29-98 and continue to present. Dealership service dept. Can repair rear suspension per GM tech. Notes but problem noise in rear suspension reoccurs within 50-300 miles. GM has stated that they will repair vehcile under original warranty agreement, but after 10 repairs I feel this is a defect in the vehicle and not just the parts.
Malibu suspension is unsafe. Front control arms, rear struts, brake lights, rear turn signal, rear tires worn because of struts, headlamps failures make it obvious Chevy is marketing unsafe Malibu's. Chevy should buy back these defective cars especially mine it's an unsafe piece of junk!( dot number: Tire size: 215-60R15 )
