I just had to have my driver's side rear tail light assembly replaced. I had to pay for it myself. The Chevrolet Malibu 2000 tail light leaked allowing water to enter the light. I do not believe I am the only one who has encountered this problem. There has been no help from manugacturer to pay for this replacement.
VIN is [xxx] manufactured 05/00. Rain water collects and is retained in right tail light assembly. One lamp of four shorted and blew. Assembly is inadequately sealed and insulated against water.
